Matthew Perry in 'Lost' finale? Internet abuzz
Could this Island *BE* any weirder?
Uh, yeah, if Chandler Bing showed up on it... sure.
Woke up on this morning-after-"Lost" to one more mysterious surprise.
Remember a couple weeks back when Matthew Perry (of "Friends" fame, in case you've forgotten) announced his burning desire to return to TV as a character on "Lost"?
Well, apparently, Hollywood website IMDb.com -- a site many industry types use as a resource fairly often -- has decided to grant Matthew's wish, giving him a role in "Lost"'s two-part season finale.
Credited as "George Hobbes" in "The Incident" parts 1 and 2, if the casting is correct, Chandler Bing and Jacob just might be one in the same. As Zap2it's resident "Lost" guru Ryan McGee points out, Hobbes is the last name of a philosopher who wrote "Leviathan," the start of social contract theory which, according to Wikipedia, is "occupied with demonstrating the necessity of a strong central authority to avoid the evil of discord and civil war."
Sound like a prototype for Jacob to you? A central figure maintaining
the balance between the dark and light sides at war on the Island?
Uh, no. I mean, come on, there's no possible way. Even setting our ridiculous Jacob theory aside, the notion of Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse letting Monica Geller's husband board Ajira Air is a joke, right?
Just to make sure, I checked with ABC and the network totally denies that there's any truth to this rumor. Perry's personal publicity team also tells me the info is false.
So, yeah, what do you think? A week-late April Fool's joke? Simply a ploy to get IMDb extra traffic today?
If so, well played.

Holy Frak!!
This is too good not to share and discuss!
And Korbi, please tell me that we will be seeing more of my dreamy Desmond this season...last night's appearance was punch-tacular and tres romantic-hero-esque but way to short!
LOL love this
Dreamy Desmond? tres romantic? Totally creeped out
Totally fake. A few years ago someone posted a guest appearance by Samuel L. Jackson as Bernard. And someone once posted Demi Moore as playing Summer's stepmother on The O.C. IMDB is a great site, but since anyone can post to it it's pretty much only reliable after the episodes have actually aired.
My favorite: Terri Hope (not) coming back to 24 as Aunt Carol.
Whoops... mean't Leslie Hope.
he should bring joey
Attacking someone because he's aiming a gun at the love of your life (and potentially going to harm your child) and then intensely and p***ionately pummelling him makes one look very sexy my friend...I find Desmond a very romantic hero indeed.
HOpe Perry is coming on! He's actually god in dramatic stuff and he could play creepy and charming
IMDb.com's information is generated by users, so there are lots of inaccuracies and flat-out falsehoods on there, especially regarding movies/shows that haven't been released yet.
