Hugh Jackman's 'Wolverine' Body by Milk ad a bit of a stretch

When I take my daily dose of calcium it's for one reason and one reason only: to stave off osteoporosis. Sure milk has other good properties -- not the least of which is how it good it tastes with a plate of chocolate chip cookies -- but continued bone health definitely ranks pretty darn high on the list.

So, when I saw the new Body by Milk ad featuring Wolverine (as played by Hugh Jackman) my first thought was, "What the what?"

Wolverin-milk

See, Wolverine's original bone skeletal system has been seriously enhanced with adamantium, a fictional indestructible metal alloy. Milk isn't going to do him a lot of good.

At least the ad copy goes another route: "My power to re-generate might be top secret but my ability to re-engergize is simple. Milk has protein to help build muscle and a unique mix of nutrients to help you refuel."

Still, Wolverine's unique muscle and skin regeneration and healing powers have nothing to do with his milk intake. And we're pretty sure after a day of fighting the powers of evil he's more likely to grab a beer.

What do you think? If you're going to buy a superhero who drinks a lot of milk who would it be? Captain America? Superman? BabyMan?

Dude, I think you may be taking this a bit too seriously. Its an ad...for milk.

Also - his skeletal structure wasn't "replaced" with adamantium, the adamantium was GRAFTED to his bones.

...and what Kathleen said.

I agree, he'd grab a beer...or maybe a shot of whiskey. But he'd down a gallon of milk with his chow just to wash it down.

I don;t think anyone's taking this too seriously. It's obviously tongue-in-cheek. Appreciate that she knows what adamantium is.

Milk, BTW, is a pretty ****-poor beverage for "re-energizing" unless maybe you have a mutant healing factor. It's not even that good for quenching thirst.

Milk...Hugh...ahhh...works for me

mm, Hugh J. is so gorgeous. I love this ad!

Yes I am drinking milk right now so I can be like wolverine, hope it works

Superheroes that drink milk? The Phantom (from the newspaper strip) and Captain Marvel (the Power of Shazam version). And milk is goood!
