Death hits close to home on 'House'
Less than 24 hours ago, all was seemingly well with Dr. House's newer class of ducklings, as Kutner, Taub and 13 caught a Sunday Lakers game at the Staples Center together.
Socializing outside of work, Kutner, Taub and 13 -- otherwise known to their mothers as Kal Penn, Peter Jacobson and Olivia Wilde -- were approached by a fellow basketball fan who stopped to say, I love you guys on "Grey's Anatomy"!
How do I know? 'Cause Kal hilariously tweeted about it while courtside here in Los Angeles.
But if you are here in Los Angeles, or anywhere on the West coast for that matter, and haven't yet seen tonight's "House," I suggest you stop reading now because one of the happy sports nuts on House's team whom I've just mentioned is going to bite the dust this evening. And I'm about to talk about it.
Of course, all you internet spoilerphiles have known for a little over two weeks that a "House" death is coming, but it'll still knock the wind out of you when you find out who we're losing.
Can I get an Amen from those of you who have seen it? I honestly thought we were losing Taub, and though I like both him and Kutner, the loss of Kutner just hurts more. I'm not really sure why. And it came out of nowhere, am I right?
I don't know, I'm distraught. He was too young, too talented and too kind to go. This sort of awfulness happens in real life, why does it have to happen on fictional TV too? I don't like it. Bad decision.
My only solace? Kutner did want to date Amber, remember? Maybe they can get that whole thing going up in Heaven. I don't think Wilson would really mind.
Visit Princeton Plainsboro's memorial to see how House and company are dealing with Kutner's death. And feel free to leave your condolences for their friend/colleague in the comments section and/or express how you feel by voting in the poll below...

if i had seen this before i watched the episode, i totally would've been spoiled. thanks.
Why couldn't it be Thirteen who died? Or Foreman? I wish both of them were gone. Even Taub is boring.
Kutner was the only team member I liked, the only one who was enthusiastic instead of cynical and jaded.
What a stupid show-running decision. Every fellow with any character, Chase, Cameron, Henry, Amber and now Kutner, has been got rid of and the most boring and annoying ones remain.
Taub killed Kutner, p*** it on!
It was just the actor who was written out of the show, right? That's sad for us viewers, but not nearly what the p***ing of a real person (actor) would be.
I know the above sounds silly, but sometimes they do have to write in a character's death because the actor who played the part has died (e.g. the psychiatrist on "Monk").
I, too, wish it had been "13" instead of Kutner, since he was cool and sincere (and a "Harry Potter" fan), and she's just ordinary and boring. Actually, I don't see the impetus for him offing himself like that; he seemed too honest a person to do it. Maybe he's expecting to come back as a higher life form or something.
Personally, I kind of like Taub; he reminds me of a guy I used to know in high school (like anyone cares).
Of course, if the show doesn't work out without Kutner's character, they can always do a "Dallas" and bring him back while calling his earlier demise a dream.
Thanks for spoiling. I need to remember it's not enough to not read a blog post. I have to remember not to visit your site AT ALL. (headshake, from a former fan.)
should have been taub - he's boring
I guess I'm stupid. Did the real person die? I want to be wrong
I feel like some others who have left comments, He was the only live person left on the team
Mirroring real life, when someone dies unexpectedly, the emotions are there, but not on the same level as in real life. I felt the shock, dismay and sadness as if he really "suddenly" died. Still reeling.
I think they moved House to Mondays to avoid all those stupid Obama speeches on Tuesday nights at 8:00.
Why can't the networks just take turns with that stuff? Surely we don't have to have the same programming on all the channels at once, right?
