'House': A tribute to Kal Penn's Lawrence Kutner
"House" fans may have been unprepared for the sudden suicide of Dr. Lawrence Kutner (Kal Penn), but FOX definitely wasn't. Within minutes of the episode airing on the east coast, a memorial page had gone live and a tribute video was sent out:

Wow that threw me off... why did they have kutner kill himself? that memorial thing at the end made me think kal penn died or something. again does anyone know why fox took kal penn out of the show?
Sorry to see Kutner go.
Namasté Lawrence Kutner...and be happy in the Great "White Castle" in the sky! Kumar
Shocking! But on a happy note- kal Penn asked to leave to pursue an opportunity to be working at the white house. Congrats to him!
Evidently, his loyalty to the now-US President has been rewarded, as Penn was recently offered the position of ***ociate Director in the White House Office of Public Liason. And while the pay ain't great, the prestige is; which is why Penn is jumping at the opportunity.
So, unlike most killed-off sitcom characters, Penn's leaving the immensely popular House of his own volition
FOX has gone WAY overboard.
CREEPY and TACKY!!
I am really sorry to see him go. I have been a big fan of house since it had come out.But i am still a little puzzeld on why he had did it.
WOW, that episode was a shock i am a big fan of his! He should not have been killed off!He made the show just a bit more entertaining
The whole In Memoriam thing for a fictional character is kind of creepy.
I think the death of Kutner was shocking, as it was meant to be. Good luck to Kal Penn on his promotion to a bigger and better "House", the White House. I think Kutner's suicide leaves open the possibility to explore the shocking reality of suicide. Anyone who has had a loved one commit suicide or even attempt it, knows the shock and grief. Haven't we recently seen people commit murder/suicide out of despair. I think its time we acknowledged the elephant in the room.
Yeah, it was a bit unsettling but FOX had to close the character since Kal Penn decided to leave HOUSE to pursue the position of ***ociate Director of Public Liason in the White House. That's right, he's decided to work for the president. It's really sad to see him go, and worse, to continue his acting career alongside Obama (not too keen over the J.A. in the White House).
