'Desperate Housewives: Jesse Metcalfe back on Wisteria Lane?
Neighborhood gossip, you guys...
A little Wisteria Lane scoop, coming to you straight from The Paley Festival where "Desperate Housewives" was just honored: Seems a major character from the series' first two seasons will return in the last five minutes of next month's finale for a huge surprise.
"DH" creator Marc Cherry wouldn't say who, but when the panel moderator brought "Gaby's gardener boy John" up, Cherry smirked and said, "Well I think we're done here."
Does this mean Jesse Metcalfe is coming back to Fairview? Or was Mr. Cherry just throwing us off the trail of the returning character's real identity?
An insider tells me to expect Metcalfe back. I've contacted ABC for comment and will let you know when I hear more.
But in the meantime, shall we weigh other possibilities?
Will Rex Van De Kamp rise from the dead to demand profits from Bree's business which bears his name?
Could Paul or Zach Young come a knockin'?
Come a knockin'?
...I don't know. It's Saturday.
Anyway, let's talk about this. If John Rowland is returning, one must wonder, for what possible reason?
UPDATE: ABC has no comment.

Forget about DH...Korbi, any news or scoops on a possible Las Vegas series finale?
Metcalfe, shmetdtcalfe. He might pop up for a guest spot like he always does but SHE will be back. I'll hush...
I'd love to see him come back, fun. But only if he doesn't ruin what they've got going on.
I am much more excited by the possibility of Paul Young or Rex Van de Kamp coming back than John the Gardner. And if Rex can come back from the dead than maybe a certain blonde could too...
(that's for you my friend!!)
I would much rather see an appearance by Paul or Zach Young quite frankly.
How could the return of his worthless character be considered scoop? Everyone is broadcasting it as if it would make any difference to the show whatsoever. Booooo.
Ugh. Please no! His character's storyline is so played out. Him coming back would be a very lame attempt at a ratings grab (even lamer since he's a lot less popular now than when he was a virtual unknown on his first stint on the show!). Maybe Marc Cherry has a thing for him? It would be the only explanation for bringing back an awful actor to protray a character that would only annoy the viewers.
I read somewhere I while back that Zach was supposed to be making an appearance this season. He is Mike's son, so it's possible...
Could it be Edie coming back from presumed death? My guess is after her accident the character didn't die, but rather pretended to be to get away from her abusive husband, Dave. She shows up in the last 5 min. of the finale. That would be a shocker AND technically Edie is a character from the 1st 2 seasons!
OR, it's Rex back from the "dead". That would be a huge shock and buzzworthy for sure.
