CBS moving 'Harper's Island' to Saturday death slot
The series was only intended to last one season, but I'm guessing CBS was hoping for one solid, ratings-healthy season. Sadly for them, no such luck.
"Harper's Island" debuted just two and a half weeks ago, however it hasn't been performing quite up to par -- averaging roughly seven million viewers on Thursday nights -- and, word is, its 10 remaining episodes will play out on Saturdays because of it.
Cast member Jim Beaver -- whom you may know better from The CW's "Supernatural" -- posted this news on his Facebook page today: "just found out that CBS is moving 'Harper's Island' to Saturdays at 9 p.m. (ET/PT) starting this week."
Though CBS hasn't yet confirmed the time slot change, Beaver -- who was also first to let us know, via Facebook, when "Supernatural" and "X-Files" director Kim Manners passed away -- seems to be a pretty good source of info.
So, thoughts on the move? Are you enjoying "Harper's" now? Will you follow it to Saturday, even though no one really watches TV that night of the week anymore?
UPDATE: CBS has since confirmed that "Harper's Island" will move to Saturdays at 9 on May 2nd. A rerun "Criminal Minds" will fill its former Thursday slot.

Yeah, I'll still watch it. I dont even care that they are moving it to Sa****ay. That's what Tivo is for!!
With DVR and time shifting so common now along with watching shows on the Internet does it really matter what night it is on?
I rarely to never watch shows "live". I make my own tv schedule up and with that I save tons of time without watching the commercials. Enough though harper's island is 1 hour it's really 41-42 minutes without commercials.
I'm not sure why CBS doesn't use the ABC strategy of repeating shows they hope will catch on (or that follow a distinct story that you need to follow to watch the show)--like ABC does with LOST, at least at the start of the new season. I've seen NBC do this too to help build an audience. I would have given this a shot if I had seen it when it came on the first week but did not dvr it and now am out of the loop on the story. I was looking forward to this. Oh well...
I am way too into the show , not to watch it.
Yup! I'll just check to make sure my "It's Craptastic!" Comcast DVR can handle the pressure. When is that Comcast Tivo service coming again, the same one they promised three years ago?
I've been watching the show however this last episode sucked and so if it moves to Sa****ay night, I will watch it if home. Otherwise I will tape it and watch it later or watch it online. HOwever I won't make an effort to be home on Sa****ays as I did on thursdays to watch Grey's and then Harper's Island if this moves to Sa****ay. I will continue to watch my Thursdays shows and find a suitable replacement at 10 instead of Harper's.
At least they're going to air the remaining episodes, so there is that.
It's not too late to get caught up with the show online or on iTunes.
Yeah, I'll follow this show even to that graveyard night.
I really wanted it to do well. I've been missing a good murder mystery for so long. Seriously, think about it: no good murder mystery movies, let alone TV, in a long time.
We have Comcast Tivo in Boston, and it has bugs. I've had to replace my box 3 times since getting it. It just fries intself out. Plus no one at Comcast knows how to fix the Tivo Boxes. Whenever I call they always say they havent been trained on the new boxes yet and need to call me back. Its annoying
Yes - I will watch it - I have been enjoying it so far. I usually watch BBC America for Dr. Who, Torchwood and Ashes to Ashes but I will tape Harper's Island if it overlaps any of those shows.
