Ellen Pompeo, Chris Ivery expecting first child

Ellen Pompeo, like Chyler Leigh who plays her TV half-sister on "Grey's Anatomy," is pregnant.

This will be the first child for Pompeo, 39, and music producer husband Chris Ivery, 41, who are both "ecstatic," a rep tells People.

The couple met in 2003 and tied the knot in New York City in November 2007. Mayor Michael Bloomberg officiated at the City Hall ceremony.

Pompeo plays Dr. Meredith Grey on "Grey's Anatomy," while Leigh plays her half-sister Dr. Lexie Grey on the show. Leigh is expecting her third child, a girl, in May.
