Duggar Family's Josh & Anna announce pregnancy
The Duggar Family has spread its seed to the next generation.
Joshua Duggar, the oldest child of the family featured on the TLC show "18 Kids and Counting," and his wife Anna, 20, are expecting a baby, reports People.
"I am very excited and am learning new ways every day that I can be there for my wife," Joshua, 21, tells the celeb magazine. "I thought that she would be the only one going through the emotions of pregnancy, but I'm right there with her."
The child is due in October.
As fans of the show may recall, Joshua -- the oldest child born to Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar of Tontitown, Arkansas -- had met Anna during a homeschooling event. The show followed their courtship, in which they never shared more than a hug or hand-holding, preferring to save their first kiss for their wedding day in September 2008.
The Duggar family featured on the show is known for children with names all starting with the letter "J." It's not certain if the new generation of Duggars will have names following the same theme.
What do you think of the Duggars and their brood? Are there too many kids? Should Josh and Anna start their own naming tradition?

whatever floats their boat. they seem to be happy with their lifestyle. having a baby every year is certainly not my idea of a good time, but if you can afford lotsa kids & have the energy to nurture them, more power to you!
Personally, I find this Quiverfull movement to be nothing more than disguised child abuse. There's no way you can give 18 children the time they deserve. And a young child should not have the "jurisdiction" of cooking for a family of 20 on her shoulders.
As for Josh and Anna -- they share their first kiss in September and are pregnant by January. They didn't waste any time in bed, but they (1) needed to be older before marrying and (2) needed to wait to have their first child. Couples need "couple time" before having to shoulder the responsibility of children. But all they've had is this warped example to follow.
I feel sorry for this family.
At least this young lady has had a lot of practice in caring for kids.
I think it is wonderful how they saved themselves for each other. The Duggers are in my opinion a perfect example of a well structured, loving, disciplined, God fearing family. 18 kids and NO DEBT, they are doing everything right, keep it up my family and I love the show.
This family is a sad example of what a twisted view of Christian teachings can become. You end up having kids taking care of other kids, and the whole "buddy system" is just a different way of saying "free nanny service". Does anyone else get the heebie jeebies when "Jim Bob" (could he be called anything else?) and the missus look at the camera with that lost stare and go on and on about their home schooling and whatever else those crazy cats are into. It's a Stepford family if there ever was any. Yikes!!
too bad they didn't wait a little longer before getting pregnant. just having sex for the first time and pregnant a few months later. it's a lot all at once for a new couple, and the end of their young married life (sans children).
btw, please start with a new letter now!
People used to have really large families and were perfectly happy and healthy. I don't know why that can't hold true today.
I do think they were a little young not only to get married but also to be expecting their first child. It's a good idea for young couples to spend a few years together before having children.
But...We all make choices in our life, and this is their choice. If this is what they want, they are old enough to make that decision.
I wish them all the luck in the world!
The only thing more revolting than this overpopulated family is TLC's willingness to give them a TV show.
I got married at 21 and had our first child a few months' before our 4th wedding anniversary. I'm very glad that we waited several years to have a baby because we had a VERY rocky patch in our marriage after she was born. Had our relationship not been as strong, we very well might have wound up separating.
If the Duggars do not want to use artificial contraceptives, that's fine, but there are very effective modern methods of natural family planning.
We live in an age of overpopulation that is destroying this planet with self-centered greed, pollution, fuel dependency, and an unemployment rate I do not see declining any time soon. I find it alarming in this 21st century that these families exist, with one even have their own TV show, when there is an increasing lack of anything creative flourishing on TV. I thank my own lucky stars that I am childless everyday becuase my gift to this planet is not adding more children to it. I feel sad for the children of these Quiverfull families. They may be protected within their own families, but they must deal with the extremely real world as adults and suffice it to say, many of them may not succeed in doing so.
