TwitterDrew Barrymore goes underwater for Elle
Drew Barrymore is really submerging herself into a new chapter of her life ... beginning with an underwater photo shoot with Elle magazine.
The "He's Just Not That Into You" star shot two covers, the regular newsstand one and a dreamy underwater one that will be sent to subscribers.
In the magazine interview, Barrymore addresses how she'd like to transform her career.
"I'm in my thirties now, and I really want to try all the things that I haven't gotten to do yet, like directing, and doing a drama," she says. "I've produced and gotten to do a lot of optimistic love stories, and that was so where I was at for 10 years in my life. And now I feel like, Okay, now I know how to do that. I wanted to get scared again."
On the directing front, Barrymore, 34, has already helmed "Whip It!" the roller derby film starring Ellen Page that's looking at a fall release. And of course, there were those rumors of Barrymore taking the reins of "Eclipse," the third film in the "Twilight" saga.
Drama-wise, the actress will appear opposite Jessica Lange in HBO's "Grey Gardens" playing the cousin of Jackie O. The movie will premiere on Saturday, April 18, but in the meantime you can check out the trailer.
Also in the interview, Barrymore discusses how she transformed for her "Grey Gardens" role and about breaking up with Fabrizio Moretti.

great ireally like it shes still pretty even under water!!
I think Drew is very cute, but I do not think that she is model material. I also think she is very good at acting and I like most of her movies, but not a model. She has done the one thing that I always thought was great about her and that was that she never got skinny, until now ! She finally gave in ! Too bad Drew, you were already very cute.
I wanted to make it clear that I am very much a fan of
Drew Barrymores' and have watched her for as long as she has acted. I just meant that she has always been herself and not really caved in on the have to be skinny club and I liked that about her. It just seems that now she has jumped on the skinny wagon that most all other actors are on, and I'm a little sad about that. I'm a mother of a son and daughter, and it was nice to have someone like Drew stick to her guns on not getting to thin. But she is very close to that now ! She looked great the way she was. And no, I am not big. I've always been very thin on my own and my kids are grown and are thin too. But not from having to change a thing about them. You can tell that Drew has worked hard to lose weight and if that's what makes her happy I guess thats O.K. but she still needs to know that she was adorable the way she was ! I just hope she knows that.
