CBS' 'Early Show' with Susan Boyle, talks with Patti LuPone

Susanboyle_britainsgottalent_240 CBS' "Early Show" landed an interview with Scottish breakout singer Susan Boyle Thursday morning and even got the "Britain's Got Talent" contestant to sing for U.S. audiences this time around.

Boyle, 47, was speaking from her home in Blackburn, Scotland, where she'd been living with her mother who died recently. The singer discussed her vocal training and how she reacted to her overwhelming fame ever since her audition clip hit YouTube.

The show also called up Patti LuPone, who had originated the performance of the song "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Miserables. LuPone praised Boyle's rendition of "Dream" since the song is technically difficult. After hearing the compliments, Boyle simply said, "That'll do" in a very farmer-from-"Babe"-like way.

i am buying her album as soon as it's out.

Love her singing!!!! Going to buy her songs, for sure!

Susan, I knew you were not mucking about when you walked confidently on stagew,. But the furthest thing on my mind was the impact you were going to have on your audience. You sang the first phrase and i said to myself, she has aced it already. The audience reaction and that of the judges confirmed. You could walk away from the show if you wished, you are a star on her way already.

I hope she sings Memories by cats.

Susan,

You are absolutly amazing. Your performance was breath takingly stunning!

I pray you continue to amaze and stun us each week! You are an absolute JEWEL...national treasure and I can't wait to buy your albums!

Luv,

Pauline

so far i have heard very little about the "truth" of the performance...it was like watching great acting, altho i think susan was just being herself.....the poise, the hand motions, the joking before starting, the serious look as she prepared to sing then a small smile directly to the audience before she opened her mouth to start the song....i found the performance as stunning as the singing....i want to see her in a live musical.....think of the emotion.....

Susan, when you were singing, I cryed. Your singing is extraordinary, breath taking. Your voice is very beautiful and strong. You have an opera voice. I replayed and replayed your performance of the "Dream,"and I cannot get enough of it. You are already famous, Susan, and you will be loved by all the world.

I started watching the youtube video and my 3 year old came in from the other room and started watching the clip with me. He didn't take his eyes off the screen at all. He just said "wow", that sums it up for me too.

I am so inspired by you, Susan. I've dreamed the dream, too, but I don't have your talent. Thank you for doing this for all of us like me.
