Will 'Better Off Ted' stick around?

Jayharrington Some solid comedy on last night's "Better Off Ted" premiere. The problem? The show reminds me of "Arrested Development" in that the audience has to pay real attention to what's going on if they want to get the jokes. And we all know how difficult it is to actually think while watching TV.

So, will "Ted" stick around? I'm thinking it's not likely. It did hang on to most of the people who tuned into "Scrubs," but that number is just 5.7 million... probably not enough to keep it on the air next season.

Still, there is the whole issue of critical acclaim and fan passion, so if you love "Ted," let us know it...

You would have to remember Fred Savage's comedy WORKING, but it suuuuuuuure was similar.

While it didn't grab me like "Arrested Development", I enjoyed it. I like all the players ( I have a crush on both Andrea Anders and Portia diRossi :) ). The premise shows promise, but the show could be so much more than the pilot (after all it's just a pilot). I hope this show has a chance to find it's voice and grow. But, I can also see why it might not. And this same doubt is revealed in EVERY review of the show I have read so far, so good luck to "Better Off Ted", you're going to need it.

I tried Korbi, I really did...but I didn't even chuckle during the first 7 minutes that I watched! Sorry!

30 Rock and Office are definitely rooted in "odd" but there is a humanity in the characters that make them work. ABC seems inspired by "odd" but have gone and made most of their sitcoms rooted in weird or even surreal. Ted, Daisies, even Betty are almost too weird to want to spend time in their fantasy worlds. You can't relate to anyone on Ted. That being said, the dude from "High Fidelity" was great as the cryro scientist.

the half hour was enjoyable enough, but i don't get the feeling that it will be uphill from there. i agree with JTHutt that the show had that "odd" Pushing Daisies feel, not bad to watch one time, but after that, it just gets tiring. sorry Ted.

A terrible program and with Scrubs leading it out, it didn't help either. Both shows need to go bye-bye.

I wanted to like this show because I want to see more sitcoms back on TV, but this show is not remotely funny. The "Scrubs" lead-in certainly did not help matters any! Both need to be scrapped immediately! "In the Motherhood" looks horrible as well. I hope it doesn't kill "Samantha Who?" which is a great show!

IT ROCKED! And Jay, Portia, and Andrea are all hot! It was very funny... very very funny!!! PLEASE do not cancel this show!

I was surprised that they put it on AFTER Scrubs since that show is a dog in the ratings.

We tried to watch it, but it just didn't work for us. We turned it off after 10 minutes

It was enjoyable, but I'm not sure if the protagonist is someone we can really root for yet. He needs to be a little more human and vulnerable.
