VIDEO: Jon Stewart vs. Jim Cramer on 'The Daily Show'

Jonstewart_dailyshow_240_001 Stewart. Cramer. It's go time! Or, you know, go-for-ratings time.

"Daily Show" host Jon Stewart devoted nearly the entire show Thursday night to an interview with CNBC's Jim Cramer. The feud -- which, by the way, has been good for both sides -- has been simmering for the past week, as "The Daily Show" has gotten record web traffic with its takedown of financial-news network CNBC and Cramer, the madman host of "Mad Money."

CNBC returned fire, and the past few days have featured a lot of back-and-forth sniping. When Cramer actually sat down with Stewart, though, the result was a contentious but generally fair interview, with Cramer calmly admitting he and his cohorts maybe should have been more vigilant and Stewart seeming to take Cramer at his word on a few points.

The full interview is below, in three parts. The bulk of their conversation is in part two, and if the embeds are balky -- TheDailyShow.com was running slow this morning, presumably because lots of folks are trying to watch the clips -- you can find the three parts here, here and here. The site also has uncensored outtakes from the interview.

This was great television. The uncensored longer interview is even better. Cramer took his beating like a man and Stewart made his points without being a bully.

It would be interesting to compare ratings of both shows in the aftermath. My guess is that Cramer and cnbc will slowly lose viewership. is there data that tracks that?

Usually I like watching The Daily Show because it's funny how things/people in the public eye are made fun of. Doesn't matter the topic, it's simply an entertaining show on a comedic television network & not to be taken seriously. I agree that Stewart had some valid points about CNBC & I loved the clip packages over the last week. I didn't like the March 12 episode tho because it's hard to see how this serious toned "interview" fits with the show.

This interview should have been on a different platform than a comedy show if it wasn't going to be funny. Colbert Report at least used the puppies and kittens to keep us laughing when Jim Cramer was on that show.

I don't like Cramer's show for his over-the-top antics/yelling, or even him for that matter if he did know how the market was being manipulated but didn't do much of anything about it. I do however applaud him for having the fortitude to appear on a show where he was obviously unpopular and going to be the butt of the joke.

What happened to Santelli who started this all with his rant and then backed out of appearing on TDS at the last
minute????

CNBC should be the real target of all the media hype on this story for promoting "in Cramer we trust" and their financial NEWS(?) reporting. Stewart has been pointing this out. It's unfortunate that this supposed Cramer/Stewart fued seems to be getting the media attention instead of the whole gang at CNBC who all deserve it.

Stewart repeatedly stated that his real target was CNBC's lack of journalistic integrity.
It was Cramer who stuck his neck out as a representative -- because he is a media ***** who has seemingly appeared on every outlet NBC had to offer. But he made the mistake of showing up unprepared for The Daily Show.
