The fans have spoken: Looks like FOX will push 'Bones' ep to fall, but not the finale
So, it looks like Booth and Brennan will get their bedroom time this spring after all. No doubt they have their vocal fans to thank for it.
As I reported last Thursday, because of President Obama's prime time address tomorrow night, "Bones" is in danger of losing a whole hour of its season to accommodate "American Idol"'s schedule. And as of late last week, FOX's tentative plan was to push "Bones"' season finale -- which includes the long awaited Booth and Brennan hook up -- to fall.
However, it seems the tentative plan has been tweaked.
Though FOX is not commenting on "Bones"' schedule, insiders tell me that a revised version of their spring lineup was released earlier today and though "Bones" will indeed lose an episode this season, the finale hour is no longer the one marked for postponement. Instead, they've axed ep 4.18 "Beaver in the Otter" (otherwise known on fan sites as ep 4.24, episode numbers are wonky this season due to several year 3 episodes being pushed last spring).
Perhaps the network peeped some of the fans' helpful suggestions and decided to take their feelings into account.
Of course all schedules are subject to change, but I will monitor the situation and keep you updated.

This is asinine and ridiculous - Dr Brennan has the social ability of a dead fish - the best 'mate' for her ever on this show was Zach. Hooking up booth nd brennan will be the death knell of a quality show because writers are too stupid to be creative with relationship direction.

Well, I guess it is better to lose this episode than the season finale. I find it incredibly moronic of FOX that we have to lose an episode at all. Stupid American Idol. With all the time shifts and delays that FOX has put Bones through over the years, we had better get nine seasons or else the whole story may never get told especially if we keep getting shortened seasons.
I hate American Idol, but I hate it less as long as I get my Bones finale when I was promised.
Pushing the finale would be AWFUL... This is not the best news since an episode will be delayed, but it is certainly not the worst news if true. Pushing the finale to next season, I think, would cause a huge anti-Fox-network backlash.
John, I get the concern about the hook-up taking something away from the show, but Bones is and always was going to go there with Booth and Brennan. This isn't some new decision, and I don't think any informed or logical human being could watch this show and say "gee, I wonder if they'll get together". This is not the X-Files, it was always obviously going to happen.
That said, I like Emily Deschanel's chemistry with Boreanaz and I don't really care enough to think "gee, this character is entirely different then Booth" because it's a show that's more caricature then characterization.

It's going to seem out of place next season, plus, this episode is WAYYY to close to the finale to cut! (I'd rather they not cut one at all...but hey, what are you going to do about moronic execs?)
This is just going to through it all off...
Come on, you cannot tell me that an established show is not as important as a new show such as Lie to me? Or that there aren't some rerun spots in the coming weeks' schedule that Bones cannot play a second ep of the week. If we cna have two reruns of House this week, why not two eps of Bones in another. I am certain if the Fox powers that be really try, they can make an arrangement so we can have all the Bones eps we need and want....
I'm actually quite happy with this outcome. I went through the list of episodes which I wouldn't mind them axing in exchange for our finale and Otter was one of those. Otter or Dearly Departed. So, I'm just fine with this. As long as we get some B/B Bedroom action, I'm just happy! Thank G-d!!!
