Cloris Leachman, 82, the former Miss Chicago and "Dancing With the Stars" grande dame has taken a natural approach to her new ad for PETA encouraging a vegetarian lifestyle.

Wearing a dress made entirely of cabbage and lettuce leaves, Leachman (who gave up eating meat over 40 years ago) the ad shot by photographer Robert Sebree encourages people to "Let Vegetarianism Grow on You."

The vegetable ballgown is actually more coverage than Leachman has had in the past. Nearly a dozen years ago she appeared on the cover of Alternative Medicine magazine covered in nothing but body paint.

Get a load of the ole bag!

PETA kills animals.... Something like 97% of the companion animals that they took in last year were put to sleep! I can't remember the address, but it was on yahoo yesterday. Boo PETA!

I hope I am as beautiful at 82! Not a huge fan of PETA, but go Cloris!

The picture is airbrushed, but she looks amazing!!

Katrina, you are sooo right. Peta does kill animals. Check out this link. http://www.petakillsanimals.com/petasdirtysecret.cfm

PETA - No friend to animals.

she looks amazing and beautiful1go go go peta!!!

Right. I'm sure the biggest nonprofit animal rights organization is really just a lie. Because no one cares about animals. At all. So they couldn't possibly get together for a common good. That site is useless and doesn't cite any sources. Just because someone makes a site and SAYS something is true doesn't mean it isn't. It's possible they euthanize animals, but likely? Probably not.

Does anyone know of the photo of Cloris where she is naken and had vegies painted ao her? Bonnie Hunt just quickly showed it on her show. I would to see it better.

Conor, do yourself a favor and research the issue if your going to comment on it. A quick google-search and legal do***ents (obtained by public request), photos, and sources are readily available. Not to mention if this were slander there would surely be a lawsuit against those supposedly defaming PETA but there isn't. Why? Its tough to defend against the truth.
