No way to bring Heather Locklear back to 'Melrose'? Give me a break
Special guest star Heather Locklear as Amanda Woodward on The CW's "Melrose Place" remake? Not happening. Not as of now anyway.
According to EW.com, Locklear has passed on the offer to reprise her role as TV's most memorable 1990s bitch. Though the network is not confirming that Heather is out, her people have said it is so.
EW cites a source close to the situation who apparently told them, "There wasn't a way to bring her back that made sense."
Uh... pretty sure I could come up with four or five feasible story lines right this second:
1) Aging D&D Advertising exec who ignites a feud with in house publicist Ella Flynn (Katie Cassidy) whom she sees as a threat.
2) Crazy mother who ignites a feud with her daughter Ella Flynn, the younger version of everything she is and has always been.
3) Shameless cougar who sets her sites on aspiring filmmaker Jonah Miller (Michael Rady), igniting a feud with his fiancee Riley Richmond (Jessica Lucas).
4) Demanding boss to L.A. transplant Violet (Ashlee Simpson-Wentz) whom she hires with the specific intention of crushing the sweet girl's dreams... which eventually ignites a feud with all of Violet's protective Melrose Place friends.
I mean, come on.
And no doubt you guys can come up with several ideas bigger and better than what I just proposed. Let the brainstorming begin...
I agree, Korbi. It's bizzare that there were reports that she was a lock for returning and now supposedly she's not because there's no logical way to bring her back. If she really had doubts in bringing back Amanda then why was she considering an appearance on the new series a couple of weeks ago?

Melrose was great. Such a guilty pleasure. But they shouldn't do a remake. Nothing will compare to the original. It's just like with 90210. IMO the remake simply isn't working and I'm not bothering with it (anyway, Gossip Girl is soooooo much better!). I'm sick of remakes. If they are going to remake something, then at least don't label it as a remake because then it gets saddled with certain expectations which it probably won't ever meet!
I don't think she could be anyone's mother since she didn't have a kid on the original show. The thing that would make the most sense would just be if she owned the building and was the landlord from hell.

THIS SHOW STANDS NO CHANCCE OF BEING THE GUILTY PLEASURE FROM THE 90'S. NO MATTER WHO HAS A LOBOTOMY AND COMES BACK FROM THE DEAD !!!
Heather just doesn't have a place within this new installment. If they want to hook old fans they need fix everything that went wrong w/ melrose from season 6 and on. melrose place fans need some closure. 1. Sydney needs to come back! Her death was a cover-up by Wilshire Memorial when her comatose body was stolen by the cult who abducted her in season 3! 2. Billy and Allison and Jake and Jo must be reunited. These were the super-couples of MP that fans rooted and stood by! If the writers can introduce new characters surrounding the events of old characters it might be easier to pull in the loyal MP fan base again.
