MTV's Pedro Zamora Movie To Air April 1st
It's been 15 years since we met the cast of The Real World: San Francisco, but the memory of house mate Pedro Zamora is still fresh.
Living with HIV, he gave a public face to the disease during his time on the show, educating an entire MTV generation on the epidemic and raising awareness about prevention. On April 1st, MTV and LOGO will honor the activist's life with the world premiere of Pedro, a TV movie based on his story.
Told from the perspective of his friends and family, actors were cast to play his partner Sean -- whom he married on the show -- as well as his Real World housemates. Yes, there's an actor playing the part of Puck. Alex Loynaz plays the part of Pedro. The film was written by recent Oscar winner Dustin Lance Black (Milk).
Trailer is below. Will you watch?

This is exciting news!
very cool. first "Milk", now "Pedro", awesome......
I will. Definitely.
Great news
Why wouldn't they just use Real World footage and make a do***entary? Surely they have RW footage that never aired on TV that they could have used.
great news as that was one of the best rw seasons and it had a powerful msg sent by a powerful young man.
I'll absolutely watch! The first and maybe second seasons of MTV's The Real World are the only ones I really kept-up with. And it hit me when I read that Pedro had lost his battle with AIDS, because that first season was one of the only that really felt "real". He seemed like a bright light, proud, unafraid to shine into the dark places of ignorance. He is missed.
@ Heather H: Pedro wasn't on RW's first season (NYC, he was on San Fran)), but i otherwise agree with your sentiment.
YES!!! i will wtch it because i'm a lesbian, and even though i don't have aids (thank God) pedro still effect my life WE LOVE YOU PEDRO!!
very much looking forward to it. He was a hero to many.
