'Lost' & 'Veronica Mars' alums set to sign on for 'Gossip' spin off
With Gossip Girl spin off leads Brittany Snow (young Lily) and Krysten Ritter (Lily's sister) cast, executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage have now set their sites on the ladies' supporting players.
As you may have already heard, Lipstick Jungle's Joe Bennett, Andrew McCarthy, will play the part of young Lily's pop. And now insiders confirm that Lost's Cynthia Watros will likely land the role of young Lily's mom.
Also reportedly signing on is Veronica Mars' Ryan Hansen (Dick Casablancas) as a possible love interest for one of the sisters.
Excited by these prospects?
The series -- focusing on Serena van der Wooden's mom, Lily, back in 1980s L.A. -- is set to debut May 11 as a Gossip Girl episode.

The show has me interested for atleast the premiere just because of Brittany Snow.
Any news about the extremely talented and under-rated Ryan Hansen getting well-deserved roles is good news!! :)

1980s Gossip Girl, man I'm all over this.
i wasn't that excited about this spin-off but it's sounding better and better with this casting. plus a chance to see the 80's, with i hope alot of 80's music, i'm there....

I know it's not on a major network and all, but it is FILLED with Veronica Mars alums (thanks to Rob Thomas, even Jason Dohring and Kristen Bell are making guest appearances) and Lizzy Caplan (from the amazing True Blood) is in the main cast.
I don't know how I feel about a spin-off. Most annoy me at times... but yay for Ryan Hanson! Loved him as **** on Veronica Mars! I'm still mad at the CW for canceling the greatest show ever.
CW is really making a go of this fifth network thing huh?
