'Lost': Previewing 'Namaste'
Well, it feels like it's been longer, "Lost" fans, but it's only been two weeks since "LaFleur" went and blew the majority of our minds. Next up? "Namaste," an episode title that hasn't had me this excited since...well, "The Life and Times of Jeremy Bentham." So, needless to say, I'm not letting the title get me overexcited. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, well, call me John Locke.
As per usual, no spoilers here, though I thought I'd leave the following promo clip below for those of you who need to savor every second of footage you can. I got the embed code from the powers that be here at Zap2it, though I haven't myself actually watched it. For all I know, it could be three minutes of Elizabeth Mitchell sucker punching kittens. Like I said, I haven't looked at it, but that doesn't mean you can't. With all major parties back on the Island, I am looking forward to seeing how the two time periods intersect and reflect off one another.
If you'd rather take a little bit to remind yourself where we're at, make sure you hit up the We Have to Go back gallery, fully updated through the last episode. After tomorrow night, we'll be more than halfway through the season. I know. Insert single tear here.
And, in case you missed it, be sure to check out "South by South Pacific," the epic "Lost" musical concocted by myself and my wife, Diana. Originally, I promised five acts, but somehow it doesn't feel right to present a pop song parody of only half a season. So, we're going to sit on what we've done and unleash it, fully completed, at season's end. In the meantime, click on any of the following links to jump to a specific act.
Be sure to vote on your favorite act of "Pacific" below. In addition, I'm curious as to which Dharma Initiative-era character you're most curious about learning more about. So answer both polls, check out some links, and be sure to check out It Happened Last Night to read my recap after the episode airs!
Ryan also posts every 108 minutes over at Boob Tube Dude. He invites you to join the hundreds already in Zap2It's Guide to Lost Facebook group. He also encourages you to subscribe to the Zap2It's Guide to Lost Twitter feed.

WILLIAM ROBINSON [3/12/2009 8:40 AM]: "Lucky you. Nikki will be returning this season."
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
Just experienced the musical and I am absolutely blown away! I can't believe you did this in a week or two... I would think it would take months to come up with all these clever lyrics!
I especially loved "Suddenly Sayid", the "Bohemien Rhapsody" song ("No, no, no, no, no, no, no /
This is worse than gonorrhea
/ OK, Hurley, now you go /
We have plans for these three, these three, these threeee...")
"Hydra Prison Blues", "Dharma Van", "The Freighter Bunch", "Up Where We Belong" and, most of all, "One Turn More"!
KUDOS!!!!!!
One note: As a musical theatre buff I would suggest changing "Robert's" to "Rob's" in the final line of "Suddenly Sayid" to better match (if memory serves correctly) the original rhythm of the music.
CLAIRE & THE HELICOPTER:
I have no recollection of such a scene. Though I do sometimes see scenes on the DVDs (and maybe the ABC late-night weekend reruns) that I don't remember in the original airing.
Can anyone confirm this or am I just as looney as those who think they saw a scene with Claire getting on a helicopter?

this commentary alone was worth the price of admission.
your musical is great! kudo's to you and your wife, Diana. but one question...where is the AUDIO?? ;) but seriously, audio wouldn't hurt.
Having heard myself sing, I can say that yes, it would indeed hurt.
That being said, Di and I might belt out a few tunes on the next podcast, provided we get a few people over that have volunteered to sing as well.
The Nikki reference gives me a perverse thought: What if she and Paolo are Adam & Eve? And by "what if" I actually mean "Where do Damon and Carlton live?!"
Looney, huh? Well I guess that does explain why this white jacket fits so snugly. :-)
And yes, please give us fans what we want, what we really really want. (BTW, how did that song not make the cut!)Podcast please! Personal picks, Freighter Bunch, We have to go Back, and Bohemian Rhapsody. Those were some of my faves and they have the added benefit of requiring very little vocal ability.
I can hadly wait for the audio version....
:-D Yay!
Nikki isnt returning. This is from Kristin of Eonline
Carlos in Carolina, Puerto Rico: Kristin, I read on IMDB that Kiele Sanchez is back on Lost in April. Is this true?
Love you from Puerto Rico!
Kristin:Back at you, bambino! According to Kiele's reps, "This isn't true," and we won't be getting any return visits from Nikki Fernandez in April's episodes of Lost. Guess those buried-alive deaths actually stick!
There's an old saying in Tennessee - I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee - that says, fool me once, shame on - shame on you. Fool me - you can't get fooled again.
i am wary about tonight's episode. don't want to be John Locke...
i will proceed with cautious optimism though.
the musical was a complete success. can't TELL you how much i enjoyed that!! :-)
