Have 'Mercy,' Michelle Trachtenberg
Pilots for next season will start filming in the next few weeks, which means casting for them is starting to wind down. But there are still some notable names being snapped up -- like "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Gossip Girl" veteran Michelle Trachtenberg.
Trachtenberg will get to play a grown-up role in NBC's drama "Mercy," where she'll play one of the show's central trio of nurses. She joins former "Men in Trees" star James Tupper, Jaime Lee Kirchner and Taylor Schilling in the cast.
Her character, according to The Hollywood Reporter, will be an inexperienced new nurse who befriends the other two leads. Trachtenberg is also set to reprise her role as the devious Georgina Sparks on "Gossip Girl" in April. She also appears in the movie "17 Again," which is scheduled for release on April 17.
Elsewhere in pilot land:
Allison Munn ("What I Like About You," "That '70s Show") has joined writer Justin Adler's ("Samantha Who?") about a guy (Nick D'Agosto) who brings his girlfriend home to meet his judgmental mom and the rest of the family. Munn, who co-starred in ABC's "Carpoolers" last year, will play the girlfriend.
Scott Caan and Curtiss I'Cook will check into FOX's "Cop House," which previously cast Tony Hale. The Brett Ratner-directed comedy is set at a halfway house for troubled law officers; Caan ("Ocean's 11" and its sequels) will play an expert marksman who has a breakdown after his wife leaves him, and I'Cook will play an officer prone to violence, the HR says.
"The Shield's" Catherine Dent has signed on to NBC's post-apocalyptic drama "Day One." The show follows the survivors of the catastrophe as they figure out what happened and try to form a new society.

Sounds a lot like the stuff that just got cancelled.
