'Grey's Anatomy': Don't count Katherine Heigl out

Between continued reports of unrest on the "Grey's Anatomy" set, comments made by a fellow cast member and a storyline that has Katherine Heigl's character -- Izzie Stevens -- riddled with cancer and facing a less than 5% survival rate, fans have pretty much figured that Heigl will not be returning to the show next season.
Not so fast, says the actress.
At a studio party celebrating the series' 100th episode, Heigl says she herself isn't certain of Izzie's fate but that she's game for more if the show's producers are.
"I don't know if I live or die," Heigl tells the AP.
"I was assuming that [I die] at one point and I got a lot of shrugged shoulders and shakes of the head, so I don't know if that's a yes or a no. No one will tell me and I don't know how this is going to go."
Speculation has been that Heigl is ready to leave "Grey's" to pursue a movie career, but the actress is happy with only doing films during her TV hiatuses for now.
"I don't know if I want to continue for five years working 12 months a year, but I can take at least another year of two."
The star of "Knocked Up" and "27 Dresses" can next be seen in this summer's romantic comedy "The Ugly Truth."

I never hated Katherine Heigl and I can understand where she is coming from. The longer she stays on Grey's, the older she will become and the less likely her film career will flourish.
Give her a break, she was right when she told the writers that she was not givent the best material in fourth season but also the writers were about to go on a writers strike so most writers were not on top of their game anyways.
I like her character Izzie and their will be a huge hole in the show for a while if she goes. The can get ride of George because I have hated his character ever since he slept with Izzie. But izzie is hot so what guy would not have done it.
of course she can take it for another year or 2, take the money that is....
i don't blame her, another year or 2 and she'll never have to work again. (but maybe never has to already if she saved her $.) i hope she dies on grey's. but it really doesn't matter because i quit watching already....

Nice language Reggie! How about some respect. You should apologize. Katherine Heigl is a talented actress whose absence from Grey's would be hurtful to the show. The character of Izzie and the depth Heigl brings to her have provided some of the best moments of the show.

I really enjoy Gray's but one of the main reasons I watch is to see what is up with Izzie. They really need to keep her if they want to keep Gray's going. I agree with Karl - Izzie is entertaining and a fine actor.
i like Katherine, but i wish she would leave grey's. Die Izzy, die! and then onto bigger and better things for Heigl i think.
get rid of her she and or tag team partner are a cancer on the set go do a movie and the TV crew have fun again. anyone can put up with her crap for 6 weeks its 22 that they hate.

Please. The majority of people in this world HAVE to work 12 months a years and earn way less than Heigl. I've pulled many 60 - 70 hour weeks. Worked 7 days a week non-stop for months on end so, yeah, Heigl, I guess you CAN work 12 months a year for another year of two. Poor baby. Didn't take her long to forget how the REAL world works.
