Jewel_dancingwiththestars_s8_240 A day after it was reported that Playboy Playmate Holly Madison has been in rehearsals for the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars, ABC has announced that both singer Jewel and Access Hollywood host Nancy O'Dell will be leaving the competition due to injuries.

Jewel has fractured the tibia in both her legs and O'Dell has torn the meniscus in her knee.

"When the doctors told me my injuries were so severe that I couldn't walk -- let alone compete -- I was devastated that I couldn't continue," says Jewel, who had the distinction of being the first celebrity who would be competing against her husband, rodeo star Ty Murray.

Nancyodell_dancingwiththestars_s8_240 "Beyond disappointment doesn't even being to describe how I feel about not being able to continue on Dancing with the Stars," says O'Dell. "It has been one of my favorite shows since Season One! But I have torn the meniscus in my knee in two places, which requires surgery."

ABC has not yet confirmed that Madison will indeed be joining the cast, nor do we know who the second replacement will be. ABC needs to come up with someone quickly though. The new season of Dancing With the Stars premieres next Monday, March 9.

Holly Madison was never a Playboy Playmate as the article states.

So, all I have to do is look really good or be an ex-beauty queen and be an entertainment reporter and I qualify as a "star".

put shaquille O'Neal on dancing with the stars

I would say that Stephen or Daniel Baldwin would be a good bet to appear on "Dancing with the Stars" but all of thier reality show appearances have the word "Celebrity" in the title, like Celebrity Apprentice, Celebrity Mole, Celebrity Fit Camp, Celebrity Rehab,etc... If they want to replace O'Dell with another Entertainment reporter why not get Pat O'Brien? He's already so far down the drain hardly any light reach him.

Poor Nancy. :( I hope that she gets better soon.
