'America's Next Top Model' New York auditions 2.0

"America's Next Top Model" will give the short girls another chance to be fierce, despite a stampede that injured six and resulted in three arrests.

After a riot broke out Saturday (March 14) in New York at the auditions for The CW reality show -- canceling the day's auditions --  "ANTM" host/creator Tyra Banks assures the hopefuls that the auditions will be rescheduled.

"[W]e are doing everything we can to make sure that ALL the girls who weren't seen get an opportunity to audition," says Banks in a statement, "we'll update you on our plans very soon."

The auditions for the 13th cycle of the show have been particularly popular since this time around, they are seeking shorter models, giving a chance to women who have always lacked the height to compete with the tall model standard.

"It is so important to me to redefine beauty and make sure that everyone gets a fair chance to pursue their dream," adds Banks. "I am beyond excited for Cycle 13; for the first time ever, young women 5'7" and under have a shot at becoming America's Next Top Model!

"I encourage each girl to come out ready to rock the runway and show off their fiercest pose. I'm rooting for all of you!"
