'American Idol' David Cook's message to 'disturbing' fans
David Cook loves his fans, really, but could they perhaps just be a little less ... fanatic?
The "American Idol" champ posted a plea on his MySpace Celebrity blog on Sunday, March 22, labeled "Attention."
Cook, 26, thanks his fans, but then launches into a discussion of behavior that he finds "disturbing."
"[T]he efforts by some fans to find our hotel rooms, call our hotel rooms, attach things to our bus, etc., is something I have to condemn," he writes, whilst no doubt looking over his shoulder.
The reality show winner tries to soften the harsh blow by explaining how celebrity and fandom should function: "This relationship only works when it remains healthy for both parties, and should this behavior continue, the only thing we can do is take more preventative measures to maintain our privacy, which in turn makes us less accessible to you."

Is David being too harsh? Or should he just endure this behavior since it's part of being famous?
I agree with him there is a line between being a fan and being a stalker, however I can see the other side of the story where this things do come along with being famous. Ultimately I do not feel like he is being to harsh, while he is famous he too deserves some degree of privacy
This was a necessary blog that David had to write. There are a couple of crazy fans that have decided to stalk him at every concert on this tour. DC has been very nice and generous to his fans so far, but these so called fans have been stalking him and the band inside the casino gigs and have been rumored to put a GPS device on the bus. If the GPS thing is true than that is criminal and very dangerous. These crazy fans are going to ruin it for the rest of the normal fans that would like to say hi to David and band off stage. I understand though if they have to take further actions to protect themselves against these so called fans. Buying a ticket to see a show does not entitle us to ownership of David and the band.
What a whiner, take some singing lessons.

Cook is a JOKE as the reigning American Idol - an admitted agnostic on a show that skews heavily to the family friendly Christian demographic, now complete with a fanbase of psychotic and delusional cougars who have made him a laughingstock.
His band members are enabling these fans by telling them where they are going to be after gigs, and allowing these freaks to hang around them and buy them drinks.
Idletard has been a real eye opener, and comes closer to the truth of this matter than any Idol friendly MSM article you will read.
These "fans" are crazy, and should have been called out on this stuff long ago. But Oh, I forgot - with Cook and 19E, it's all about milking these cows dry of every red cent, enabling them at every turn to stalk and cross the lines of good judgment and common sense, and letting them trample all over your dignity and credibility as a real artist just to sell a million CD's, and some crappy Ford cars and soft drinks.
Right - money talks, and this kinda BS is allowed to walk - all over Cook, and the more rational fans who just want a chance to see him in concert without a lot of this kind of idiotic and psychotic behavior swirling in their face.
Cook and 19 E sold out his credibility as an artist to play along, for this long, with these wackos for the bucks, and to sell a million copies of the ****tiest "rock" album released last year. And this wanna be with the prima donna 'tude has the nerve to complain now?

First of all, the people making fun of him obviously have no idea what is really going on. David didn't sign up to be stalked. He signed up to have people buy and listen to his music. The post was made on HIS Myspace and addressed HIS fans. It wasn't meant for the other idiots who are making these rude comments. David prides himself on being accessible to his fans and truely enjoys it. There are a few jerks who are going to ruin it for the rest of us "normal" fans. Anyone who has a problem with this is either NOT a fan (so it has nothing to do with you) or a party to the problem in the first place!
Wag that finger there David...Cook is it? Seriously, could you imagine Mick and Keith or Vince and Tommy Lee releasing a stern warning to their fans about accessibility? Be happy you're even invited to the state fair Mr. Cook. There are a few dozen fans that paid good money to see you...sing? Sure. We'll go with sing.
Spare us! Myspace is a public forum, in a public domain, so his comments are FAIR GAME for anyone desiring to make a comment.
He knows who these "fans" are, have known about them for months - this is nothing new. He could and should have had security address this issue months ago - why didn't he?
Simple - he and 19E don't give a damn about YOU - the fans... they care very much, though, for your MONEY, and if stringing you and these nuts along to get them to fatten their wallets, so be it.
He has opened the door for the whole blogosphere, and the mainstream press and public to point and laugh at him and his fans, by posting this whiny little blog on a public forum. Deal with it.
