Amandabynes_victoriassecretfashionshow08_240 Amanda Bynes is set to play a grown-up role on television -- and nothing says "welcome to adulthood" like getting fired.

The former Nickelodeon star has joined the cast of ABC's comedy pilot "Canned," about a group of friends who all get sacked on the same day. The latest round of pilot casting also includes "Arrested Development" patriarch Jeffrey Tambor joining Lauren Graham in "The Bridget Show," Matthew Davis in the ABC drama "Limelight" and Majandra Delfino in the network's Britcom adaptation "Pulling."

"Canned" will be the second network sitcom for Bynes, after The WB's "What I Like About You." She'll be playing a hard-working girl named Sarabeth who gets fired from her office job in a corporate shakeup, The Hollywood Reporter says. The show's other firees include Tim Peper, Stephanie Lemelin and Baron Vaughn.

Bynes most recently co-starred in the Lifetime movie "Living Proof." Her feature credits include "Hairspray," "She's the Man" and "What a Girl Wants."

"The Bridget Show" stars Graham as a former TV relationship guru who tries to restart her career after her own relationship crumbles. Tambor will play her business manager.

"Limelight" is a "Fame"-like drama about the students and faculty at a performing-arts school. Davis ("What About Brian") will play a lead role as a teacher who becomes the school's artistic director.

In "Pulling," Delfino ("Roswell") will play one of two roommates (Mary Elizabeth Ellis is the other) who take in their friend (Lindsay Sloane) after she breaks off her engagement.

And why is this woman back on the air again? It was bad enough this doofus was opn some awful CW show for 5 years and some of her movies deserve no commenst whatsoever seeing how bad they were, but another sitcom star and yet people think she's funny? Hell, stale old bread looks funny but thinking this show will get canned soon enough, hence the title.

i'm excited to see lauren graham back on tv. also, i'm wondering if majandra delfino can act. i thought roswell was a good teen show but she could be over the top sometimes so it'll be interesting to see what she can do. that's also how i feel about amanda bynes, only she was over the top alot. i always found her entertaing, though. it was actually jennie garth that annoyed me.

I'm really excited to see Amanda Bynes getting a real network show. I think she's great and deserves it!

I love Amanda Bynes. I don't think we see enough of her in TV or movies. Glad she got a new TV show.
