Lucas and Peyton Both Leaving 'One Tree Hill'?
Though internet rumors claiming Chad Michael Murray (Lucas) will leave One Tree Hill at the end of this current season have been making the rounds for a little while now, with yesterday's year 7 pick up announcement comes new prattle: Hilarie Burton (Peyton) is apparently saying peace out to Tree Hill too.
The fansite OneTreeHillFans.com first reported the rumor of Hilarie's departure yesterday evening, and though nothing is officially confirmed, sources tell me both actors have yet to sign season 7 contracts. So is it possible that negotiations are still up in the air? I asked the network for comment. They had none.
Your thoughts? Could OTH successfully continue without Peyton and Lucas? Would you be cool seeing them tie the knot in a few months and slip off into the sunset?

There is no way it would survive without Lucas and Peyton. Lucas is the main character.
I would love to see Peyton &
Lucas have a "fairytale" ending...and have all the other storylines have a satisfactory conclusion. But...there is no way the show
could survive story wise or
ratings wise, if they leave.
A 7th season without the two
main stars would do this wonderful show an injustice.
I love OTH and think it wont be the same without Peyton & Lucas in it I wanted them together from the 1st season and feel that there is so much more to see - only problem is I live in the UK and am yet to see series 6. But I cant wait.
Maybe this is OTH's jumping the shark moment?
Everyone thought it would be when the show jumped ahead but that clearly worked out well.
But continuing without two fan favorites, arguably the most central characters...that is not in the spirit of the show at all.

I would be fine with LP riding off into the sunset this season. But the CW needs to not kid itself here, another season without them would be a disaster. OTH should end this season.

I dont think season 7 will survive with out 2 of the main characters. I have faith in Mark thought...soo its very possible that he can make this work!! I think it would be a good idea if the 2 of them (hil & chad) would just agree to come back for a couple episodes then it wouldnt be bad idt!!
i think that it would really stink if lucas and peyton left but there are other stories so i would still watch it but i dont know how successful the show would be because the whole basis of the show is two brothers (Nathan and Lucas) and if lucas leaves you r missing half of the show
honestly, i don't think so. i could handle if chad left, but not hilarie. peyton's by far my favorite character and i was looking forward to seeing her be a mom all next season. :( this news really sucks. i don't know how interested i'll be in the show without her.
