Balthazar Getty is leaving 'Brothers & Sisters.' Just not permanently.

Rumors about Balthazar Getty leaving Brothers & Sisters have been percolating for a while now, and they seemed to come to a head Wednesday with a report about a "shocking exit" for his character, Tommy Walker.
Well, Getty is going away for a while after the season's 19th episode. But his departure won't be permanent.
"Tommy is in no way permanently gone," executive producer Allison Schapker tells the L.A. Times. "This is just the logical end to this year's story."
That story has lately sent Tommy to a pretty dark place, as he's made some shady maneuvers in an attempt to shove his father's ex-mistress, Holly (Patricia Wettig), out of the Walker family business.

I think it is a good move since they are introducing Ryan as the other "Walker" brother, and well Tommy has done some dumb things before this and I see that Sarah will head back to Ojai soon to battle it out with Holly and take control of the company if not use Greenatopia to buy out Ojai!

Storyline related? HaHa. Yea, right. ABC is dumping Getty because he cheated on his wife. I'd be willing to bet if Getty had kept it in his pants that B&S wouldn't be writing Tommy out of the show even temporarily.
I don't think Tommy's a s***bag, he's been through a lot. I hope that he's not gone for good. He's one of "Brothers".
I've always hated Tommy's character, but I don't really want him to leave. He's still important to the family, and his trying to get Ojai back from Holly endears me to him a little more ^^ It's Holly I'm totally over and I wouldn't mind it at all if she left. More focus on Ryan and that family plz.
I don't like the move at all... I like the drama of his character possibly going to prison, but I don't want him leaving the show..... I hate when shows ruin the chemistry by early exits of key characters...
despite what problems Balthazar has in his personal life, the producers of the show shouldn't let that destroy what has come to be a dynamic onscreen relationship among the characters..
Take my advice... Don't do it!
It's not as if Balthazar is the first ( or last ) person in Hollywood to shake up his family life. It's an everyday ho-hum thing. Being perceived as "difficult" is a different matter however. Sean Young, Debra Winger, Terrence Howard and Shannon Doherty come to mind.
As far as the B&S plot goes, I'd much, much rather see Holly lose control of Ojai at the hands of Saul and Sarah. Tommy could have a reduced role, but he IS a Walker. While we're at it, enough with the illegitimate kids already. I feel the cast has gotten too big.
I think its silly that he is being let go for things he did in his personal life. I am about done with this show, used to be my favorite, but then it became the HOLLY show if her and her hubby wanted to have their own show they should have taken a different venue
