Where to watch the inauguration (hint: pretty much everywhere)
The inauguration of the first African-American president of the United States is a historic event, and TV networks are going all-out to cover it.
Networks ranging from CNN to Comedy Central and NBC to Nickelodeon will be offering coverage of Barack Obama's inauguration, most of it live, pretty much all day Tuesday. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m. ET, but the broadcast networks and cable news channels will be on the air live well before that. So will the likes of BET, BBC America and TV One, while Comedy Central will weigh in with a live Daily Show at 11 Tuesday night, after live-blogging all day. Most of the news networks will also be streaming their live coverage online.
Before Tuesday's festivities, the Disney Channel will broadcast Kids Inaugural: We Are the Future, a concert for military families that will air at 8 p.m. ET Monday. Disney stars Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers are slated to perform, while incoming first lady Michelle Obama, along with daughters Sasha and Malia, are expected to be in attendance.
Here's a rundown of coverage times and special programming on Tuesday.
ABC: Good Morning America will air live from Washington, then move into live coverage of the swearing-in at 10 a.m. The network will offer an extra, hour-long edition of World News with Charles Gibson at 7 p.m.
The network will also devote its prime-time schedule to the inaugural, covering the Neighborhood Inaugural Ball for two hours starting at 8 p.m. and airing the special A Moment in History: The Inauguration of Barack Obama at 10.
CBS: Will go live at 9:30 a.m. Katie Couric will anchor a one-hour edition of the CBS Evening News at 6:30 p.m. A 9 p.m. special called Change and Challenge will look at Obama's road to the presidency.
NBC: Today airs live from Washington, with Nightly News anchor Brian Williams taking over anchoring duties at 10:30 a.m. The network will air a special on the inauguration at 10 p.m.

Gag me.
Does anyone know if west coast TV stations will be showing LIVE early morning broadcasts of Tuesdays's inaugural events? Thanks.
Victoria Lee: yes, most major networks as well as news channels incl CNN, MSNBC will show the inaug live. on the west coast, tune in 8:30am for start. biden will swear in approx 8:45am, obama will be swearing in approx 8:56am and giving a speech directly thereafter.
totally gag me - an empty can makes the loudest noise.
The FOX Broadcast network had outstanding coverage, completely separate from Fox News Channel. Shepard Smith anchored from 10am to 2pm. Less chatter than most other networks, allowing the viewer to really feel like they're there.
NBC is the best.
CSpan lets me see the proceedings at work (shhhhh!)
You have ABC's schedule messed up. It's GMA from 7-8:30am, then ABC News moves into Inauguration coverage with Charlie Gibson, Diane Sawyer, and George Stephanopolis until 5:30pm, where it switches over to World News until 7:00pm. At 7:00 its the Neighborhood Ball coverage until 9:00pm, then an ABC News Special: A Moment in History until 10pm, local news followed by a special edition of Nightline until 11:05pm. (All Times CST)
