'Scrubs' Is Back Tonight with Courteney Cox & Keith Dudemeister
Last May when the Zach Braff-directed "My Princess" episode of Scrubs aired on NBC as the purported "series finale," more than a few fans were up in arms. Unable to enjoy the fairy tale fantasy for what it was, because they felt jilted out of proper endings for the Sacred Heart characters they had grown to love over the last eight years, there was much confusion.
Enter ABC. Swooping in in late Spring as Scrubs' Prince Charming (yes, in this scenario, NBC is the wicked step mother), network president Steve McPherson ordered an eighth season of the show, saving it from the aforementioned unceremonious cancellation. And having screened, spied and snuck scripts for several of this year's episodes, I can tell you that creator Bill Lawrence, his writers, cast and crew have not taken their 11th hour resurrection for granted. Reverting back to more of the heartfelt drama and believable comedy of earlier seasons, I think longtime fans will likely agree that this is one of the best seasons of Scrubs so far.
What can you expect from the first two episodes airing back-to-back tonight? An introduction to a few of the new interns, whom you may have already gotten to know via abc.com's super webisodes (Ed, played by Aziz Ansari, seems to be a real Lost geek who may or may not spend his spare time trolling for ladies on Lost fan sites)... the welcoming of Sacred Heart's new Chief of Medicine, Dr. Maddox (Courteney Cox), who J.D. describes as "super friendly and soulless" (she and Jordan seem to bond over the whole soulless thing)... the firing of the Janitor... some truly quality chocolate bear/vanilla bear time (though it is kindly shared with A Different World & In Treatment's Glynn Turman who plays a dying patient)... and surprise, surprise, the return of Keith Dudemeister (Travis Schuldt), who seems to still be hurting over Elliot's last minute cancelation of their wedding (tear).
Yes, tear! You might cry tonight. But the blows will be cushioned by solid comedy. Scrubs is back.

Thanks for the scoop as always Korbi!
Especially the part about the Lost geek.
I wasn't planning on tuning in tonight, but I definitely will now.
Wait, does the addition of Courtney Cox mean that Dr. Kelso is gone?
This seems like more of a TV Guide episode review.
EW has a more comprehensive review, including an actual interview with Bill Lawrence. Check it out over there.
WOO HOO!! Scrubs is back!!
Thanks Korbi!!
Dr. Kelso is alive, well and busy eating muffins for life in the cafeteria...
Seems too bad they took for granted their time on NBC. The last couple of seasons were really kind of out there.
Thank you!
i will be watching tonite 4sure
It was soooo good!! The second episode was amazing and they did what Scrubs does best...made me laugh outloud and had me crying softly at the end! Kudos!!
ABC ruined the show. It was not funny at all. The 2nd episode was way soapy, typical ABC. Barley laughed, they ruined a show by keeping it around. It should have ended last year. Thanks ABC for ruining a good show just for extra sydication money. The show is going to bomb in the ratings, pulling According to Jim numbers...
