'Nip/Tuck' Returns Tonight To Tie Up Lose Ends & Unravel New Tales

Julianmcmahon_dylanwalsh Nip/Tuck will return this evening to air the final eight episodes of its fifth season and after screening the first two hours, I can tell you that McNamara/Troy is just as you remember it: chaotic, cockamamie and cold. Or maybe, after such a long hiatus, you don't really recall the hysterical antics of the show last year. If that's the case, let me refresh your memory...

Last we saw Sean -- a celebrated TV star on the laughable soap "Hearts & Scalpels" --  he was reeling from the headaches of fame. Not only had his bat crap crazy former agent, Colleen Rose (Sharon Gless), perversely murdered Sean's new representative in a fit of jealousy and rage, but his daughter Annie had just suffered substantial injuries in a paparazzi-caused car accident.
Sharongless As Sean settled into the operating room, preparing to administer her facial reconstruction, bat crap crazy Colleen snuck in, stabbing him from behind several times.

Now, tonight's episode opens up just minutes before said stabbing, showing us how Colleen Rose creepily made her way into McNamara/Troy undetected, carried out the crime and what went down in its aftermath. It's an intense few minutes with Annie anesthetized unmonitored, Liz and Christian walking around clueless and Sean bleeding to death on the floor...

Jaimeraynewman Flash forward to four months later, Sean's in a wheelchair -- which we'll of course later learn is just great for sex! -- sullen, depressed and refusing to work as a surgeon. Instead he's turned to teaching young interns, amongst them Daphne (Jaime Ray Newman who you may recognize as Mindy O'Dell on Veronica Mars) and Dr. Raj (Adhir Kalyan who you'll remember as Raja from Aliens In America).

Back at the office, Liz and Christian are dealing with their own drama, as someone we know and love will discover they have stage two breast cancer and must come to terms with their possible death.

Joelyrichardson As for the rest of the dysfunctional family, Julia still has amnesia, brought on by the violent acts of her lunatic "step daughter" Eden Lord (whom we now know as 90210's Naomi Clarke). And even minus her memory, Julia's apparently pissed at Sean... Matt, however, seems to be a whole new man, applying to college and talking about medical school... while little Wilbur is still waddling around oblivious to the maniacs in charge of his care.

And that's what you have to look forward to tonight. If you're a Nip/Tuck fan, you won't be disappointed, I assure you. So, will you watch?

squeeeeeee! nip/tuck is the best guilty pleasure for me

SIGH. The whole Colleen Rose plotline wasn't just sick, but worse sad, which sick is a given on Nip/Tuck but sad was really too far. At the time of the stabbing episode, I thought that was a season finale and if you recall the series DIRT on the same network also did a stabbing cliffhanger and unfortch didn't seem very original at the time as a result. I wasn't planning on returning, but it is set to record on my DVR. As my DVR is prone to constant crashing (I can't wait to switch from Comcast to ATT Uverse) there is a 75/25 chance I'll watch - leaning towards watch. The whole Colleen Rose biz better wrap up quick though.

Finally someone who reports on Nip/Tuck!

Spoiler if you don't know who has ****** cancer:

Um, we already know from the flash-forward episode a couple of years ago that Christian is alive and well about 20 years from now. So we know he isn't going to die from cancer, right? The same way we knew Sean wouldn't die from the stabbing, and we know Annie will be okay. In retrospect, that future episode was a really dumb idea.

We also know that Matt ends up a doctor, so that's no big surprise that he's applying to med school. Agreed, the future episode was a dumb idea.

Don't worry, Kellek, you won't have to put up with Colleen Rose for much longer!!

Well, this show has about as much consistancy as a typical plastic surgeon (Remember in season 1 when Escobar is surgically transformed into Mr. Armand Otiz (Most Wanted dude) and then he magically appears with his old face in the Season 4 finale).

I hope it's improved since the last two seasons.

Does anyone know if Nip Tuck is going to air in Canada? I'm dying to find out what happens and HATE that I have to wait.

Slight spoilers if you haven't watched yet!

It wasn't half bad an episode. They managed to give Sharon Gless that nice dream sequence outro and luckily there were no more teddy bear references. I swear if she was done up like a teddy bear in that dream coffin I would have never watched this show again.

Happy to say that I did not watch and will never watch this stupid show again and know that I started watching the show from the beginning. After the whole Colleen Rose thing at the end of season 5.1 I swore off the show and have stuck by my guns.
