This is probably not good news for the contestants on the forthcoming season of Hell's Kitchen, but chef-host Gordon Ramsay says he's been a relative teddy bear so far.
In fact, he says the new season of the cooking competition, which premieres at 9 ET tonight on FOX, is the first time he can "start really turning up the heat" on the contestants. Yikes.
The reason, Ramsay says, is because the contestants are, as a group, the strongest yet in the show's five seasons. "The better they are, the more pressure they can take," Ramsay says. "I've never really ben able to intensify the pressure in the past. They haven't been able to take it."

No, I'm not. Anybody who would subject themselves to bullying should have their heads examined.
What Ramsay is doing isn't bullying, it's running a professional kitchen. There's a story that when Ramsay was training under Raymond Blanc, what Blanc wanted from his underlings was so stringent that the young Ramsay actually burst into tears. What he learned from the experience though was to maintain the sort of high standards that get a restaurant three Michelin stars.
I like Gordon Ramsay.

I think Gordon is top of the line... it should be a pure honor to even be selected for this prestige position.. plus I think hes HOT ! lol
Gordon Ramsay is the worst kind of person. Being "tough" is one thing, being a d*****bag is completely different - and Gordo is the latter. But as long as audiences keep watching these people with obvious anger-managment issues and personality disorders, and as long as the networks keep lining their pockets, then they'll continue their abhorrent behavior.
I am so done with this show. it never changes. the chefs are idiots. they dont know how to cook. thats why top chef is better. gordon is a english bum. why dont the even try to change the food around. its always the same. john dore and risotta. please stop...i turn it on to watch them smoking. that should stop too.
I am so p***ionate about food and have never had the opportunity to do what these people are trying to do! I admire Gordon and his patience because I have never seen anything like this in my life, I would shut both of them down or buy them (chance would be a fine thing) and turn them around, what are they doing!
Gordon is Gordon. If you want a chance in the ring, be sure you'll have to brace yourself for the punches.
