Get The Scoop on Tonight's 'Battlestar Galactica' Premiere
No Battlestar Galactica fan will ever forget the scene last June when the Colonial fleet finally found Earth. Mere moments of celebration were interrupted by a harsh reality: Earth was far from the paradise they'd all imagined for so long.
Tonight's mid-season premiere opens not long after the fleet's landing, everyone still in shock over the planet's current state. Perhaps shock isn't a strong enough word. I'd say utter despair is in the air. And as the hour moves along, the brutal disappointment will become more and more apparent. Mary McDonnell (President Roslin), Edward James Olmos (Admiral Adama) and Kandyse McClure (Lt. Dualla) in particular deliver heartbreaking, Emmy-worthy performances.
And while you won't find out who the final cylon is this evening, there are a few reveals that will have everybody talking. There will also be an moment of total trauma, so unexpected that it'll take your breath away...
UPDATE: Scratch that, perhaps you will (mhmm) find out who the final cylon is tonight. Seems an important scene or two were indeed removed from the press screener.

LOL - The Comcast description for the episode on my channel guide says "The final cylon is revealed." I thought that was phooey!
You do find out. The scene was removed from the preview screener so it wouldn't get leaked :-)
Actually, I have forgotten the final scenes because Sci-Fi has held this off for so long, and no repeats (until today)!
So much hype for such a bad show!!!
Longtime watcher, Rena?
In any case, thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to tell us that the show we all love is a 'bad show'. Granted, I do like some shows that are bad, but BG is not one of them, in my opinion.
I honestly don't know what a person could point to on this show that they could characterize as bad. The writing? Nope, it's some of the best on television. The acting? Also stellar. Special effects? Music? Yeah, I'm coming up empty. We'll have to agree to disagree on this one, Rena. May I call you Rena?
And personally? I have always felt like this show had NO hype. When I first started watching it, most people didn't even realize it was on television. It's only in the last season that there's been much media awareness at all. This show deserves way more respect (hype?) than it has gotten.
Everyone I know who has watched as little as a single episode agrees that this show is awesome. I often wonder if the detractors have watched the show at all.
LOL - Herc @ AICN was saying he was going to have to watch tonight to find out who it was - he did link to you Korbi on the GG spinoff news which was awesome even though GG is not really that crowd I would think --- anyhoo
I wish the so-called evil liberal MSM was making a bigger deal out of tonight's BSG and treating it like they do in UK over Doctor Who changes. It was major major news over there when they announced the new Doctor who won't even appear until 2010! I'd love to see a Barbara Walters Special advertised for 2 months where she says she'll sit down with the actor/actress playing the 12 model. Or an Oprah or something! Maybe by leaving out the scene they kind of flubbed any momentum??
So that was kind of a letdown being that person but makes sense and give that actor/actress a chance to shine ...so how does that explain what Starbuck found...so does that mean that everyone descended from Cylons so really everyone is the final Cylon? I am confused at the implications!!
I love when Korbi gets a little ****y with her "I have info you don't" schtick and gets caught looking silly. Funny, I thought she was a pro...someone who would know that it is common practice for networks to omit pivotal scenes from screeners so "journalists" like KG don't blab on their little blogs.
BRILLIANT post, Siansonia. Way to go. You know your stuff. Thanks for defending an amazing show.
Ron H, seriously WHO are you? When did Korbi refuse to go out with you? Get a grip, man.
