Breaking: George Clooney Readmitted To 'ER'? Julianna Margulies To Join Him?
Though NBC has yet to confirm, it looks as though Dr. Doug Ross will be back in the ER before the series takes its final bow this Spring. According to Entertainment Tonight and RadarOnline.com, sources are saying that George Clooney -- who played Doug Ross from 1994 to 2000 -- will be filming scenes for the show this Thursday and Friday.
It has long been rumored that Clooney would return as a salute to the series that really jumpstarted his career, however insiders have been mum until now. Just last week, executive producer John Wells avoided answering a direct question on the subject, saying simply that Clooney is "very busy" and "very handsome."
And this week, the handsome guy is apparently busy reprising his role as Dr. Doug Ross.
Thoughts? How many people who abandoned ER years ago will tune in again to watch this blessed event?
UPDATE: Life and Style is reporting that Clooney's ER love interest, Julianna Margulies (Nurse Carol Hathaway), will be back to film scenes with him as well.

Well... I've turned in for each of the returns soooo far. I guess I might as well turn in for Doug too, but will Carol be there????
That would be awesome, but only if Ross and Hathaway are still together! Im glad they've brought back Jerry, Dr Corday, Mark Green, Romano, Kerry. But what about some of the others? Susan? Jeanie? And I wouldnt mind seeing Luca and Abby just one more time...And we have to have a romantic reunion of Ray and Neela! They cant end the show without that!
I never stopped watching ER. I'm thrilled with this news, I love that GC is willing to return.
I'd also love to see Ray, Abby, Luka and Benton again before its over.

The Doug and Carol story line was my favorite. I didn't watch much after George left.
I am really happy IF George will be back. I hope it's not for just a minute though.
