Feeling 'Lost'? I want your 'Jughead' questions

Rebeccamader_lost_s5_240

Still reeling from last night's episode? I hear ya, Lost fans. There was a lot to chew on. Revelations aplenty, tons of emotional payoff, and naturally, a host of brand new questions we now have to ask ourselves.

So I want to know your burning questions at this early juncture of Season 5. But I also want to know the way in which you want them answered. There are four options, as I see it:

  1. In a typical "Letters from the Flame" Q&A entry
  2. On the weekly podcast
  3. During a live chat, akin to the ones I've been hosting recently
  4. Via semaphore

I suppose the last one's not going to do anyone much good, unless they happen to actually live on my street. And don't worry: this isn't some all or nothing proposition. I won't hijack all the answers for the podcast in the hopes I ascend to the heights of iTunes popularity. So I guess I'm mostly curious: would you be interested in a specifically timed, pre-announced window during which I would host a chat Q&A? Normally I'd opt for a Sunday night, but with it being the Super Bowl this weekend, I might have to look into another time in this case.

In any case, leave your questions (preceded by either "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALT!" or "Bloop!") below, in addition to your thoughts on the live Q&A.

Coming up next week, I'll be looking at the history of Others leadership in addition to answering your questions. Should be a good week.

WALLLLLLLLTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!

First question:

If Ellie is Mrs. Hawkings ... how the heck did she get to the real world and not stay on-island? and if Ben is working with her, does that mean she wants to return to the island too? And how is her relationship with Widmore? Seeing he still knows her whereabouts? But does he know she is working with Ben?

Ryan, as you are a wordsmith by trade, I'd vote for either:
a) Anagrams; and/or
b) Iambic pentameter.

Just a thought.

(Still trying to formulate a relevant question. For now, I'll have to stick with the usual largely-irrelevant twaddle. But, at least I'm filling SOME kind of role here. And better, I suppose, than being the resident Troll).

Then again, salty limericks might be more your style...

And I have to admit, semaphore is a choice with real potential. Just think: you can combine both work (answering questions) and working out--and looking cool--all at the same time. How often do efficiency, exercise and lookin' cool (alas, could not think of appropriate 'e'-word) coincide?

I'm jus' sayin'...

Bloop!!!

1) When Faraday is talking about fixing the bomb problem, he says, "I have to render it inert", which makes me think of the 'Tempest'. What if the Others or Dharma opened it up and tried to contain the chemicals, until Ben got his hands on it and used it for the 'Purge'?

2) If Widmore says the Island is his, maybe he was in line for leader, but was ousted. As we remember when Juliet killed Pickett, there are serious consequences for killing one of your own people (which Widmore did to Cunningham). Juliet was branded, but what if Widmore is forced to turn the FDW as punishment?

What does this meeting between Richard and Locke mean with respect to Richard's testing of Locke? Did Locke, in fact, p*** the test when he chose the comp***, sand, and knife? Richard was clearly upset and left abruptly and we all ***umed that he was upset that John didn't p***. But after Jughead, did John actually chose correctly? If so, what was Richard upset about? Or was he not upset but had to pretend to be and leave quickly so that John's life would continue and John would end up on the island?

To add a quick followup, if John didn't p*** why would Richard ever chose him to be their leader?

Doesn't this mean he HAD to have p***ed?

WAAAAAAAAAALT!!!

I must have missed something, how did you know know Jones was Widmore? I had no clue, good call Ryan, now explain yourself please

I'm with Matt's original question, only preceded by a big nasty Bloop!

WAAAAAAAAAAALT!

Okay, now that we're all skipping through time and we see that this is something the island has the ability to do, let's look back at that four-toed statue. How does that old theory (at least, I'm told it's old. I thought of it and thought I was being totally original until someone told me they'd seen it before) about it being built by humans who'd evolved past their need for the useless pinky toe sound? Could this statue have been built way far in the future and then traveled through time with the island?

And I'd definitely try to make it to a live chat if I'm available. It'd be fun!

Bloop!!!

3) Where is "Jughead" now? (If it turns out that Jughead = Tempest doesn't pan out) We know that Faraday suggested they bury it in concrete, so did they? Even though I'm sure this has been brought up before, but a bomb expert had this (among other things) to say about "Jughead": "Uncontained, there are a couple of things radiation can do: Cause radiation sickness, cure cancer, maybe even have ill effects on pregnant women." hmmmm...
