Zap2it's Year in Review: TV's Hidden Gems of 2008
Last year we called this our "Guilty Pleasures" gallery. Then, we did
some soul-searching over the next 12 months and came to the realization
that we don't feel guilty about a single show we watch -- even Hannah Montana.
Sure, we might need to rationalize and defend it to the nonbelievers
who don't have nearly the broad TV-viewing palates that we possess, but
we're ok with that.
So, this time around we're calling our selections as we really see them: "Hidden Gems."
Truth be told though, 2008 was a tough year. The Writers Strike did everything it could to snuff out any joy that could be found on the small screen It had us scrambling to cable for something, anything to watch. Luckily, our dedication proved successful ... even if there's a lot of reality shows (in various guises) on the list.
Here's hoping 2009 proves more fruitful on all fronts.
What about you? What shows did you discover in 2008?

sorry but some of these so-called "hidden gems" 2008 are some of the most annoying drivel on tv--c'mon "queen bees"?? and "say yes to the dress" is THE worst!! at least your 2007 list was a little better....
I think you might be wise to change the name back to guilty pleasures. No gems of any sort there.
Torchwood on BBCAmerica. Especially James Marsters guest starring as Cap'n John Hart.
What..were these the only shows left that hadn't been mentioned in any other year-end-list column?
Gems...I don't think so. Unrecyclable garbage...that's better!
The Best hidden gem of 2008 was THE MIDDLEMAN!!! But then again it's ratings were so bad, that it is more 'hidden' than jimmy hoffa!
Wow, with the exception of Privileged that was pretty much reality tv drek.
YES! Where was THE MIDDLEMAN?! Awesome show shifted into oblivion by ABC Family. SciFi, why did you not pick up this amazing show which it exactly up your alley?!
