Should Barack Obama's daughters guest star on 'Hannah Montana'?
Forget about the puppy. It appears that Barack Obama's daughters may get Miley Cyrus as the most exciting benefit from being the First Daughters.
Malia and Sasha Obama have reportedly been invited to visit the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana starring teen sensation Cyrus, according to Access Hollywood.
"They probably will. The invitation is there," says Billy Ray Cyrus, the real-life father of Miley Cyrus and her TV father for her character as well. "The Hannah Montana film comes out in April. Maybe something might happen around then. Maybe not. I don't know. I have got to keep a secret."
Besides falling into the target demo, 10-year-old Malia has already been proven to be a big fan of the Disney Channel. During the election, when she discovered her father had purchased 30 minutes of time on various networks for his infomercial, she asked, "You're going to be on all the TV? Are you going to interrupt my TV?" to which the future President Elect assured her that he hadn't bought time on the Disney Channel.
Miley Cyrus is unaware if an official offer actually went out to the sisters, but is open to meeting the girls and exchanging information on their different lives and experiences.
"They are kind of like me before I started my own career," says Cyrus, 15. "You are kind of put in it because their dad and because of my dad... so I would want it to be normal and they could come hang out on the set with normal girls. I think that would be fun for them."
It's not certain what Malia and Sasha, 7, would do if they actually tested out their acting chops on the show, which centers on a seemingly normal teenager (Cyrus) who is secretly pop star Hannah Montana.
Perhaps the more natural -- and kind of surreal -- option would be for the young Obamas to visit another Disney Channel show, Cory in the House. On that sitcom, Cory (Kyle Massey) moves into the White House with his dad who has been appointed the executive chef to President Richard Martinez (John D'Aquino). Cory has to deal with going to a school with the children of politicians, ambassadors and other world leaders in addition to placating the spoiled First Daughter (Madison Pettis).
What do you think? Is it a good idea for Malia and Sasha to guest star? What would you like to see them do on the show?

NO I'M GETTIN' AN "UGLY BETTY" VIBE INSTEAD
yeah i say let them go see a taping of the show but as far as guest starr i dont think they should do it with their father becoming the president they will have more opressing issues like staying alive!!!!
I understand that both of Mr. Obama's daughters have show biz aspirations; Malia wants to be an actor and Sasha is attracted to music and dancing. This would be a great chance for them to meet young people in the discipline and find out more about how to pursue their interests.
I say:
NO. NO WAY!! NO HOW!!
UNEQUIVOCALLY NOOOOO!
Let us learn to be humanitarians to those who are not so fortunate to receive such an invitation if it were not for who our famous parents might be?
Would they have gotten this invite if they were not the presidents daughters? I dare to say NO THEY WOULD NOT HAVE. So send out the invitation to someone else.
After all who is really benefiting from this, the Obama Girls or Mylie for more publicity?
sure! why not.
The Obama's seem to have gone to great lengths to keep their daughters out of the spotlight and I don't think they should have them do the show. However, I agree with Sasha - maybe they could go watch an episode being recorded.
Yes, as themselves would be lovely to see.
Personally, I'd rather the girls be kept off of TV initially until their father has been in office for a few months and the bugs have been worked out, so to speak. After that, I think it would be quite cool, if the girls are indeed willing.
It would be more logical, though, to have them on Corey In the House, since that does take place in the White House. Maybe they could play friends of Sophie or something. On Hannah Montana, it doesn't seem like there'd be much for them to do.
Absolutely NOT!!
Groom them in both worlds. iN THE WORLD OF THE ELITE: Nothing bad about showing up on TV.Why denying them opportunities? This is America. If there is an opportunity, grab it. Dad Obama did that, and here we go: He is the President-elect of the United States. Back to the Disney appearance: Make sure they are dressed up in what America can afford.
IN THE WORLD OF THE STRUGGLING: Let the Sasha and Malia learn how to give back to the community: How about children in foster families who may need a present this Xmas: why not have them have a sleepover on the White house lawn? How about the children in public schools: It is high time the girls tell dad Obama that children in public schools cannot have dancing, acting, music, or tennis cl***es due to budget cuts or an out of touch government. Let the girls demand equal opportunities in elementary schools. Way to go Sasha and Malia. The girls should be put at a public school, and that may make Obama and Michelle wake up and smell what our children are going through, and ultimately change the education system.
