Which 'Beverly Hills, 90210' and 'Melrose Place' actors should guest star on the updates?

Shannendoherty_breakingup_240 Now that we've seen Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth return to 90210, we pondered what other Beverly Hills, 90210 alum we'd like to reprise their roles on The CW.

Forget the obvious main cast like Tori Spelling or Luke Perry. We remember all the other, less-obvious faces that wandered in and out of that famous zip code.

We're talkin' folks like Jamie Walters, who played the hunky singer Ray Pruit, whose song "How Do You Talk Like An Angel?" really should be shared with the new generation before he shoves one of the new girls down the stairs. Or perhaps Dina Meyer's Lucinda Nicholson, who had a thing for younger men, could totally be the lucky cougar to deflower poor, loveless Navid.

Add Jessica Alba, Matthew Perry or Hilary Swank to the list while you're at it.

And let's not forget that the networks just announced that Melrose Place will get the contemporary update treatment as well, so that opens up a whole slew of '90s-era soapsters that could be finding work as their old alter-ego.

Former Rob Estes (90210), Josie Bissett (The Secret Life of the American Teenager) Doug Savant and Marcia Cross (Desperate Housewives) and Kelly Rutherford (Gossip Girl) already have primetime TV jobs, but there are plenty of other cast members -- regular and guest stars -- who should be able to fit a return into their schedules.

Alyssa Milano? Gina Gershon? Traci Lords? Oh yes.

How do you like our picks? Did we miss one of your favorites? How 'bout a shout out to Color Me Badd?

You Gotta Realize That Most Of The Best Characters On Melrose Were Killed Off Like Kimberly And Sydney...So Who's Gonna Blow Up The Building This Time?

I wish I could see Allison and Billy show up. Most of the other cast either died or faked their deaths right?

We're working under the TV rule that when it comes to primetime dramas of this sort, "death" is never 100% guaranteed.

No one should return to Melrose Place from the original. Come on, which of those characters would still be living in those grungy old apartments after this many years? It would be quite sad to see Amanda still tanning in front of that ill-fated pool. I'm all for the remake, but the only cast member that should return is the apartment complex.

Amanda should return. Of course, now she'll own the apartment complex 100% and be the *****iest landlord ever.

Amanda and Peter faked their deaths, so I doubt they will be back. Billy, Allison are just two and don't forget evil Michael

I'd like to see Laura Leighton return. I'd say to either show since she was on both, but I've already given up on the new 90210, so I'll vote to see her on an updated Melrose, which I'll give a shot if it happens.

I'm a little disappointed that the pictures weren't of the characters -- I want to see Jessica Alba THEN not now.

Also, a few details of their character or plot arc would be helpful -- these shows have been off the air for nearly a decade.

Laura Leighton's character died. How do you expect her to return? I would like to see Grant Show and Courtney Thorne-Smith return; cause I didn't like the way they broke up. You even think that Grant's character Jake still had feelings for her in his final scene. And while I'm not sure if I want them back but Andrew Shue and Brooke Langton are another couple whose break-up I didn't like. I mean they went through a lot to be together and in the end because of Michael's sister's machinations they broke up. It's so disappointing. And maybe Daphne Zuniga can come back because her son is in trouble. He could be hanging with the wrong people and she tries to scare him straight by telling him about his father.

This is dumb, a lot of those people are dead: Kimberly Shaw, Sydney Andrews, Brooke Armstong, Matt Fielding, Jack Parezi, Hayley Armstrong, Jess Hanson, Toni Marchette McKay...

They should incorporate some of the minor characters offspring into the shows tho. Maybe John Sears has a son who date rapes Silver! Like father like son...
