Greg Berlanti hits 'Return' for ABC
Greg Berlanti hasn't left ABC, where he has three shows on the air, but he's already planning his Return.
The prolific producer has teamed up with writer Rene Echevarria for a sci-fi project at the network, Variety reports. The show, titled The Return, will examine the effect an alien landing has on the world, from everyday folks to the highest levels of government.
The project is in its early stages, so there's little information beyond the logline at this point. It's the first foray into science fiction for Berlanti, whose mini-empire at ABC includes Brothers & Sisters, Dirty Sexy Money and Eli Stone.
Echevarria, however, is a veteran of several sci-fi shows, having worked as a writer and producer on two Star Trek series (The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine), Now and Again and Dark Angel. He earned Emmy nominations in 2005 for writing and producing The 4400.
ABC Studios, where Berlanti signed a big new deal earlier this year, is producing The Return.
isnt this exactly the plot of the Charlie Sheen starring sci-fi movie OF THE SAME NAME?
