'Greek' Secrets: Show Creator Sean Smith Spills
This Monday, ABC Family's Greek (stars Jacob Zachar and Spencer Grammer, pictured left) will air their Spring Break episode -- the first season finale -- and let me just say that if this is a show you haven't yet given a chance, now is the time to jump in. Smart and fun and a beautiful example of a basic cable series that could give any network dramedy a run for it's money, Greek is not an hour any TV geek should ignore. For those who are already well aware of this fact (and have emailed me about it multiple times), I went in search of a sneak peek at Monday's episode and my little journey led me to show creator, Sean Smith, who couldn't have been cooler and more candid about what's coming up. He actually trusted me with so many Cyprus Rhoades secrets that I'm going to split this Greek coverage into two parts: pre and post finale. Today, we're fielding your viewer questions, but please come back to me on Tuesday to hear more from Sean...
From Larissa: I'm dying to know about the season finale of Greek. To be honest, I just want to know about any Cappie and Casey tidbits period! Pretty, please?
Let's have Mr. Smith field that one: In the finale, Casey basically realizes that she's
just as aimless as Cappie. She's like, I
have no idea what I'm doing with the rest of my life, just like you. And that is a change for her, because
throughout the entire run of the series, she's looked at him as the aimless one. And then it's like, oh wait,
I have ambition, but I have no direction. She and Cappie kind of
commiserate on that in the Spring Break episode, so that obstacle for them is removed, and it gives them a moment to bond.
From Colleen: I just started watching Greek, which I
love. I really
want to know about the season finale or even if there are any spoilers
for next season. And if you have anything on whether Cappie (Scott Michael Foster, pictured left) and Casey
are even remotely close to actually getting back together that would be
awesome, too.
I can tell you that another major barrier standing between Cappie and Casey -- his relationship with Ms. Rebecca Logan -- may soon be a non-issue. Conflict in Monday's episode could signal the beginning of the end for those two. Still, season two will bring a new man into Casey's life, so don't hold your breath for a Cappie-Casey reunion just yet.
From Gina: I actually like Rebecca Logan (Dilshad Vadsaria, pictured right), I think she's the best character on Greek. What's coming up for her?
Let's just say her politician father (played by Michael from Melrose Place!) has quite a bit in common with former New York governor Eliot Spitzer, and that news will elicit some interesting behavior from Ms. Rebecca.
From Renu: Greek is the best show on TV. But one thing, I am not buying this newer, nicer Frannie and Casey shouldn't be either!
Don't worry, when Frannie and Evan decide to hook up -- and they will -- I think Casey will deal with her big sis accordingly.
From Pat: Calvin (Paul James, pictured left) is my favorite character. Any news on him? Also, do you know if Ashleigh's getting any play?
Max Greenfield's character Michael will be sticking around as Calvin's love interest next season, but I'm told that C may also have another romantic option. As for Ashleigh, she'll meet her match in Myrtle Beach: a boy she's dubbing the "Hotness Monster." Says Sean, "It's a little bit American Graffiti, because she sees the guy and she keeps trying to connect with him, but it doesn't happen, so we set up sort of a cliffhanger at the end." Sounds to me like Hotness (who's being played by Jesse Williams) will be hanging out in season two...

Greek's only just started over here in the UK but I full-on heart the show already. It's pure genius! Thanks for the dish, Korbi, and how excited am I that Michael Mancini is going to be on the show?! I feel like a fourteen year old girl writing love-heart doodles on my notebook ;)
I am so glad I gave this show a chance and stuck with it. Very underrated. Thanks for the info Korbi and Sean.
Thank you so much! You're the best. The season finale looks good. But why do I get the feeling their gonna drag the Cappie/Casey storyline out till who knows when? The final season, maybe? Oy.
You rock, Korbi. Yeah, their gonna drag C/C out. Boo. They better give them more scenes together next season. And if Casey has to have another guy next season can it be Dale? That would be entertainment right there.
This kind of reminds me of Lucas and Peyton. They are sort of together, then not, then finally get together in season FOUR..and now dragged out again. If 2 characters should be together, put them together already! Give them some drama as a couple not drama being apart all the time. The fans have spoken...PLEASE let Casey and Cappie date again! (So we can see it this time in its entirety!)
NO!!! I don't want Cappie and Casey back together. I think the writers are doing the right thing! How can you compare Lucas and Peyton on such a **** show to Cappie and Casey on such an awesome one?? No comparison!
Grr... put Casey and Cappie together already. They both love each other whether they choose to accept it or not. They're like Rachel and Ross from friends. It'll take probably until the last season for them to be together together like Rachel and Ross from friends. I hope we at least get a kiss in the finale. In the preview it sure looks like they're close.
I hope Rebecca and Cappie are done for good.
the only person Cappie belongs with is ME!
I guess I'm the only one who wants Casey with Evan. I also like Cappie with Rebecca.
Can't wait to see what happens tonight and will be back for part 2!
Does anyone know how many episodes are being produced for next season?
