'The Bachelor: London Calling's' Stacey: He wasn't my type anyway

Stacey_bachelorlondoncalling_s12_24 Stacey Elza, the 26-year-old graduate student from Chicago who made a statement on this week's premiere of  The Bachelor: London Calling with her sparkly blue dress and inebriated antics -- including giving her underwear to bachelor Matt Grant before passing out in a nearby bedroom -- is philosophical about her 15 minutes of fame.

"I think that all of us have partied that hard, it's just that I got caught on national television doing it," she says, blaming her drunken state on a combination of nerves, not eating and starting on the champagne early in the day. "It was a little wake-up call. Since I've been home I've been taking it easy for sure."

Not that it mattered that she was sent home on the first night, since she prefers American men to London financiers.

"I'm not a sucker for accents at all. I actually like more of a bad boy type. Ones who are into motorcyling, boating, a few tattoos here and there," she says. "[Matt] was more uptight, reserved. I want to date a manly man, not my best girlfriend."

Not surprising, Stacey is a bit of a que sera sera gal, having auditioned for the show on a lark with some girlfriends. "I went there for the experience of it. If it happened, it happened and quite obviously it didn't so whatever."

Still, that didn't stop Stacey from giving the experience an old college -- or at the very least, sorority girl -- try, interupting Matt's one-on-one time with hot dog vendor Erin S. to thrust a pair of white lace underwear into first his nonexistent pocket, and then into his waistband.

"He wasn't my type going into it, so I figured anything I do isn't going to hurt me anyways.

"I wanted to spice things up a little bit, get the attention on me, which I sure did," she says, although she obviously planned ahead since she insists that they were an extra pair of panties and did not actually come off her body. "There was a girl who walked up who had a placeholder ring that I thought was a little out there. There was a girl singing him a song, playing the clarinet. I figured I was going to bring my own into it."

Indeed, Matt did keep Erin H., Ashlee and Michelle P., those other three standouts.

As for Stacey's other memorable moment, when she declared that her life's goal was to "find a pharmaceutical that will cure something that no one has thought of"? Yeah, that's as much of a mystery to her as it is to everyone else.

"To be totally honest with you, I don't remember much," she insists, saying that when she watched the premiere with friends she covered her head with a blanket and begged her friends to tell her when it was over. "I have no idea where that came from. I have never in my life thought of something like that."

Carri_bachelorlondoncalling_s12_240 Despite her condition, Stacey did leave with a fondness for one of the other bachelorettes: Carri, of the can-tearing teeth.

"I fell in love with Carri. She was awesome. She's gorgeous, good personality, wonderful heart. I wish her luck. If she doesn't get Matt I hope she ends up with a wonderful guy."
