Jonhamm_madmenJanuary 13, 2008 should have been the night much of America was introduced to one of the best shows on TV. AMC's Mad Men won the Globe for best drama series and leading man Jon Hamm won best actor for his career-defining turn as secret-keeping 1960s Manhattan ad man Don Draper. Instead, there was a strike and a televised press conference and you may have forgotten about the whole thing. More »

Xfilessequel_240 If you want to know more about the upcoming X-Files movie (releasing July 25), well, the Paley Festival panel only gives a little 411. But at least there's the trailer and series creator Chris Carter giving reassurance that the film remains true to the spirit of The X-files the show. More »

Drewlachey_dancewar_240 Since Dancing With the Stars is all about teaching celebrities a new skill, it's appropriate that the show's panel at the Paley Festival is a learning experience for the audience as well as the current competitors on the show. More »

Jericho_s2_skeeet_240Sad fact of life: If you watch enough TV, eventually a network is going to cancel one of your favorite shows prematurely, be it after five episodes or 50 episodes or 100 episodes. Any cancellation is premature, unless the only shows you've ever watched are Seinfeld, Friends, Law & Order and E.R. More »

Edwestwick2_paleyfest08_240Coming soon to The CW's guilty pleasure semi-hit Gossip Girl: The return of Bad Serena (Blake Lively), the introduction of uber-bitchy Georgina Sparks (Michelle Trachtenberg), a building war between Blair (Leighton Meester) and Jenny (Taylor Momsen) and, if fans are truly lucky, one Gay Jewish Monkey. Sarahmichellegellar_buffythevampireBuffy the Vampire Slayer may never have been the most-watched show on The WB or UPN and it may never have won the biggest awards TV has to offer, but on Thursday (March 20) night, a William S. Paley Television Festival-generated reunion of the show's cast and producers made the Cinerama Dome at the ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood feel like the center of an odd sort of universe, or the Whedonverse, if you prefer. Minkakelly_scottporter_fridaynightl "This NBC/DirectTV deal better go through," says TV Guide writer Michael Ausiello at Wednesday's PaleyFest panel for Friday Night Lights. The audience members, with their clear eyes and full hearts, can't lose their show. Can they? Unfortunately, there's still no word if the critically acclaimed series will return for a third season. Stacey_bachelorlondoncalling_s12_24 Stacey, the 26-year-old graduate student from Chicago who made a statement on this week's premiere of  The Bachelor: London Calling with her sparkly blue dress and inebriated antics -- including giving her underwear to bachelor Matt Grant before passing out in a nearby bedroom -- is philosophical about her 15 minutes of fame.

Zacharylevi_chuck_240 The Tuesday night (March 18) panel for Chuck at the Paley Television Festival can very well be titled "Chuck vs. the Banter." Although the camaraderie is a joy to behold for fans, sometimes the crosstalk, actors impersonating each other and resulting laughter makes it difficult to keep people straight. More »

Juddapatow_criticschoice06_240Monday (March 17) night's William S. Paley Television Festival salute to Judd Apatow was one of the best Paleys I've been to in my five years of covering the event. Unfortunately, as Zap2it is a family friendly site (more, at least, than we're a family-hostile site), reporting on what transpired is nearly impossible. More »
