I know I was watching an episode of Friday Night Lights tonight, or at least part of one, because of the series of beautifully acted, funny, heartfelt scenes between Eric and Tami Taylor that ran throughout the hour.
A couple of the bands got flack from the judges for cutting things out of their songs on The Next Great American Band.

Something this obvious probably doesn't need to be said, but superheroes make the best party guests. Batman -- elegant and charming. Aquaman -- a witty conversationalist. Wonder Woman has a lovely singing voice. But none of them can hold a candle to Superman from Smallville, airing Thursdays on The CW. Young and attractive, Superman can keep the beer chilly with his cold breath and warm the fondue with his heat vision. If he didn't keep disappearing every time that darned Clark Kent showed up, we could probably even get him to clean up after.
The history of TV receptionists includes Carol of The Bob Newhart Show, Jennifer of WKRP in Cincinnati and Pam of The Office, but none have been more stylish than Amanda Tanen of Ugly Betty, airing Thursdays on ABC. Of course, none of them worked at Mode -- a fashion magazine with more characters than a Neil Simon play.
So today I'm going to follow up on what we discussed yesterday: that a power struggle over the fate of Annie exists between Ben and Jacob.

TNT asked the folks at The Closer to do a Christmas episode this year, and creator James Duff was happy to deliver. But it's still The Closer, so those looking for big doses of holiday cheer should probably hold out for It's a Wonderful Life.
