October 2007
The stakes just got higher. Literally. And it's not about the Benjamins -- it's about real estate. An unbelievably high-stakes poker game was the centerpiece of tonight's Dirty Sexy Money -- along with tantalizing clues about everything from Dutch's death to the inner nature of virtually everyone in the Darling family. Oh, and there were hotties too.
Perhaps I'm reading too much into this, but I find it amusing that a key point in this week's Pushing Daisies mystery is that the killer has hypoglycemia, i.e. low blood sugar. Because this show, whatever it may be, is never lacking in the sweetness.
Is tonight's episode of Private Practice a trick or a treat? Is it a full-sized chocolate bar in your loot bag, or a rock? Or is it something in between?
On Wednesday (Oct. 31) night's very special Halloween Criminal Minds, a white, male serial killer terrorized female victims, with a sexual element to his crimes. Oh wait. That's every episode of Criminal Minds. This week, though, introduced new leading man Joe Mantegna to the hit drama's cast.

Brett Cullen was Alan, Violet's ex-boyfriend on Private Practice. He was Goodwin on Lost, Tim's father Walt Riggins on Friday Night Lights, and Governor Ray Sullivan on The West Wing. But all this week's bonus points must go to TV Gal reader Heather who correctly remembered that D.W. Moffett played Alan in the spin-off Grey's Anatomy episode last May. Now Moffett is playing Danny on Life is Wild, the same role Brett Cullen played in the original pilot for Life is Wild. Phew! Got all that?

I was so excited for Boston Legal's Halloween episode tonight. Last year brought us the famed Buzz Lightyear versus Buzz Lightyear face-off (and this being Boston Legal neither Buzz is currently on the show, so I can't tell you who, long term, won the war). While that was fun, I was completely convinced that tonight's episode would be better.
