'The Two Coreys': Time enough for one last clip show

Feldmans_twocoreys_240 Apparently Haim will not be returning for this, the last episode of the season (as you may remember he flew out of town in the previous episode). So, that leaves Feldman and Susie here to remind us about all the wonder and magic in this season of The Two Coreys. Is there anything better than going out in your season finale with a clip show? I think not.

The episode starts out simply enough, with Haim showing up at the Feldman’s house. And Feldman and Susie explaining how great Haim looked having lost a ton of weight. A comment is made about how this is the result of push-ups, and a montage of Haim doing push-ups all around the house occurs.

Despite being clean and sober, we are told, Haim is still a slob. According to the next montage, Haim seems to make some of the mess on purpose. To be fair though, we are told, the Feldman’s are a little obsessive about neatness… perhaps too obsessive.

While Haim’s messiness does not rub off on Feldman, his smoking does. The show reminds everyone that Susie dislikes the smoking in her house and tries to help them quit. So far, what we have in this show is not so much “clips” as a recap of the seven episodes that came before.

Feldman claims to have “won” the smoking contest (I did not realize it was a contest) as he was successful in quitting. This proves to be a wonderful transition to the next montage, which, amazingly, is all about the competitiveness between the two. There does not seem to have been much to compete over, as a lot of the clips are just them recounting which roles they got in various movies twenty years ago.

After a well-needed commercial break, Feldman and Susie introduce the next montage, which is all about the Coreys being childish. Apparently they did not only go out and play videogames, but also get their pictures taken in one of those instant photo booths. Susie, of course, is not okay with the changes in her husband, and Haim is not okay with Susie as the next bunch of clips illustrate.

The person whom Haim is apparently most okay with, is his mother, with whom he spends much time on the phone. However, all of these calls seem to have been cut from the other episodes of the series, so we are quickly back to Haim and Susie and then Haim his girl problems, which did make the other episodes. Haim, we are reminded for the umpteenth time, needs a woman. After striking out oh-so-many times (my favorite is with the PETA girl), Haim invites Joanna to come to the Feldmans’s place, where Feldman is able to interrupt Haim trying to having intimate moments with Joanna as much as Haim did to Feldman and Susie.

Following another commercial break are 20 seconds of “Haimisms.” These are funny phrases that Haim uses, mainly along the lines of “shebang” and “shaboozy” and other “sha” things. But, as anyone that has watched the show this season knows, the main tension on the show is between Susie and Haim, so as soon as the “Haimisms” are finished, Susie and Haim go at it again, riling up Feldman more and more.

Sadly though, the fireworks quickly dissipate in this montage, and it is back to the careers (or lack thereof) of our two stars. The next set of clips is from the 20th anniversary screening of The Lost Boys and Feldman’s having to break to Haim that the studio is going to do a sequel to the movie, but without the Coreys. Unquestionably, this is the most touching moment in the series, and perhaps this was noticed by the powers-that-be in Hollywood, as rumors abound that they will now be doing the direct-to-video sequel. This is really funny, because the show then moves on to the meeting Haim and Feldman took about doing another movie together, wherein Feldman insists that they will only do another film together if they get a guaranteed theatrical release.

Again, followers of the show will remember that it was after this meeting, which led to the prospect that Haim might actually have to stay in town a little bit longer, that the final fight occurs between the two Coreys. The clip show is nice enough to let the majority of this fight play out before it moves on to Haim jumping in his cab and leaving town.

And that, friends, is where I came in. It also happens to be where the credits start to roll. But, this does not have to be goodbye. Why not stop by The TV and Film Guy’s Reviews and see me some time.

I was waiting on some clips that didn't make it into the show but was disappointed. I am a fan from way back and hope for the very best for them but I don't see this returning next year.

some of the clips were new, but they were all blended into the old stuff so that it was difficult to determine sometimes which was what.

"The Two Coreys" is like a bad car crash, you don't want to look at the head rolling in the street, but you can't help it. In other words, I've become a fan and will watch if it comes back next season.

So, I watched every episode of the Corey's. Why? I love me some Corey Haim. With his hot ass! I do kind of feel that Corey F was a little over the top with him being up his wife's ass! I mean, they've been married long enough that they can separate every once in awhile. I mean she got drunk the first opportunity she was away from him. That says something..Boring life!! I understand that Corey Haim was looking good and feeling good, and I would want to party with my best bud if I had so much confidence and reunited with them. I didn't like Susie, cause she bitches way too much. What kills me is they agreed to do this show, and then basically kick him out? You know they got paid. WTF? That was the tackiest ending on Corey F and his wife's part. They bitched way too much! If they knew how messy Corey Haim was in the first place, they shouldn't of agreed to do the show, cause that's all they bitched about. Look you two(Corey F and Susie), nothing last forever, meaning the show wouldn't of lasted forever. I think you should've let it ride until the show was completely over. What the hell. Corey Feldman is a straight p....y!
