Mr. DeVito, are you drunk right now?
You gotta love press tour. Because nowhere else would the headline above be an actual question be asked of Danny DeVito, who was in Pasadena Tuesday with his It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia mates.
To his credit, DeVito laughed off the query, brought in the wake of his appearance on The View a few weeks ago. His castmates offered (jokingly) that he was soused pretty much all the time.
"You know, you really see the reach of the Internet," DeVito says of the aftermath of his appearance on the morning show. "I got congratulatory calls from all over the world.
"It's a real great thing we're doing, putting our every breath [online]."
The viral ubiquity of DeVito's View appearance actually gave Sunny's creative team -- writers/stars Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton -- an idea to promote the show's third season this summer. They ultimately thought better of it, though, as Day explains:
"We're thinking, you know, we should make a sex tape and get it on the Internet. But because we're not famous enough yet, it's still going to be. ... If you're not famous, it's just pornography."
