Kylechandler_fridaynighlighBack in late November when it announced its midseason plans, NBC said that Friday Night Lights would move from Tuesday to Wednesday starting Jan. 10.

If you watched anything on NBC in the past few days, though, you may have noticed promos for a new episode of FNL this week. And, in fact, that's the case. NBC just didn't announce it.

Which, frankly, has me scratching my head. Here is one of the most critically loved shows of the new season, with a doggedly ardent (if rather small) fan base -- and a show that's produced in-house at NBC Universal, by the way. NBC made the initial scheduling change to get Lights out of the way of American Idol and give it some chance to grow, so why, fer cripe's sake, would the network not publicize the week-earlier start date more?

Here's hoping your DVR's season pass feature will catch the new episode anyway.

There's going to be a little confusion over FNL's date change, but I have it on my TIVO's Season P*** anyway. I'm just happy that NBC decided to renew FNL for the rest of the season. I'm hoping that the new year and new timelsot bring in higher ratings for this show. It's refreshing to see a real 'family' drama, where the focus isn't always on the teenagers' storylines. Coach Taylor and 'Mrs. Coach' are the best married couple on television right now.

I'm hoping that people will magically find this show. I'm praying that during the marathons on Bravo/NBC, people were also watching the commercial promos for the start date.

I heard that there was trailer for FNL before the movie showing of We Are Marshall. However, tonight my family didn't even turn on the tv because we had gotten used to having only reruns on all the networks. Come to find out, there were new episodes of SVU and CI. Since I'm not a dedicated watcher of these shows, I didn't know the dates. I hope this isn't the case with first time viewers or infrequent viewers of FNL.

Do networks have a press release that lists all the start dates of their respective shows? Or do they tend not to do those sorts of press releases after the holidays?

I think FNL is the best new show of the year. I am a huge fan of a variety of shows on TV these days, but this one really gets me in the gut every week. I hope NBC runs it for a long time to come.

NBC's renewal was a cl*** act for a cl*** show.

Quality describes the program's acting, direction, editing, and superlative cast.

This is not just for kids,....we finally have a truly loving married couple on prime time tv.
