'Lost' moving: What say you?
Couple more thoughts on ABC's decision to move Lost to 10 p.m. Wednesdays when it returns in February:
First, this is probably the best move they can make to protect the show's audience. Criminal Minds was already eating away at the show's ratings, and to put it up against both that and American Idol might have bordered on suicidal. ABC's rebuild over the past few seasons has been impressive, but it's also still a little fragile. Its schedule doesn't quite have the depth of CBS, nor can it carpet-bomb with one show like FOX does with AI.
Second, I feel kinda bad for the people involved in The Knights of Prosperity and In Case of Emergency. ABC has to put something in the 9 p.m. Wednesday hour, but it doesn't feel like those two shows -- I liked the pilot for Knights and haven't seen Emergency yet -- will get much of a chance. They premiere opposite a BCS bowl (Notre Dame vs. LSU in the Sugar Bowl) on Jan. 3, then get one week on their own before Idol moves in. Ouch.
What do you think of the schedule changes? Do you mind staying up an hour later for Lost?

Very bad news for the early to rise people. Got to rethink bothering to tune in again when it returns since it hadn't done much for me lately anyway.
Very Stupid move, will lose a ot of viewers most dont want to stay up that late to watch a very tense and confusing hour and then going to bed right after that
ABC's best scheduling move with Lost since putting it on its schedule in the first place. Lost has definitely moved into darker territory and it makes sense to put it after a comedy block. After a very underwhelming fall season which left too much unresolved (do we really live in a world where one of the weakest CBS procedural beats pop cultures most talked about show?), ABC needed to do something. But one alternative I would have also liked to have seen: Lost paired with lighter drama What About Brian.
Only CBS has the balls to face Idol, it seems.
i
record it.
watch and skip ads.
so the change in time is ok.
this is not a good move
I don't like watching shows after 10pm, when I'm trying to get ready for bed, but I guess I'll have to live with it! Had Lost stayed in the same time slot, I don't think it would be slaughtered by American Idol as badly as some think. After all, the Wednesday AI is the bloated results show, and I for one only tune in to the last few minutes to see who was eliminated.
Very smart move on ABC's part. "Lost" is a Top 5 show, along with "American Idol," in the 18-49 age group demographic. "Idol"'s fans will flip from FOX to "Lost" at 10 pm and ratings will strengthen. There is no real competition with "Criminal Minds." I dont know a single person who turned off "Lost" to start watching "Criminal Minds." They appeal to different demographic groups.
Its only 10pm people, they're not playing it at midnight! I'm sure you can spare that extra hour of sleep! Very smart to move Lost away from Criminal Minds before it's too late! Lost is definantly not the show that was handed to us back in season one and I think that the show can get even darker in a 10pm timeslot! Besides, anything is better the The Crappy Nine!
I think that is a great idea for the show!! Lost, American Idol , Deal or no Deal , Criminal Minds. In February at 9 pm would be Horrible!!
