'Big Brother 10': Play hard and go home

Juliechen_2 We're only a week into Big Brother 10, but more has already gone down in these last seven days than happened for the entire first half of the abysmal last installment. I don't know about you all, but I'm loving every second of it.

I'm ready to dive right into this meaty and surprisingly hilarious episode, but first: a quick recap. (And...now I've officially made my first "but first" joke in these recaps. I'm proud of myself for lasting until this season, frankly.) Where was I? Oh, the recap. Jerry was nominated head of household and put up Renny and Jessie for eviction because their very ridiculous fight gave him an excuse to put them up without impunity, even though Brian was convinced it was all because of his manipulation of Jerry. Jessie won the veto and Brian's house of cards quickly came tumbling down when April and Ollie's budding showmance got in the way. The house mutinied and forced Jerry to put up Brian as a replacement nominee, causing the "player to get played." I'm not sure how much of a player you are if all your plans get shot to hell after only a few days, but whatever. If Brian says he is a player than let it be so!

The live show begins and immediately I'm disoriented because there's a live audience in the studio with Julie! To quote Joe Schmo, "What's going ooonnnnnn?" The very enthusiastic audience doesn't distract me from Julie's very sexy outfit, however. Well, sexy except for those hideous white straps that look like the suspenders on a band uniform. Former marchers, you know of what I speak. Julie quickly dispenses with the pleasantries and gets down to business: there's been a lot of happenings in the house and it's time to get to them.

After the veto ceremony Brian goes to talk to Jerry and see exactly where everything in his game went wrong, and Jerry wastes no time telling him Ollie was the ringleader of the entire thing. Dan and Brian are surprised and hurt by Ollie's betrayal and confront him about it, and Ollie earns some of my respect by apologizing for going back on his word but still firmly pointing out that this is a game and he is in it to win it. Dan pulls the old "your honor is more important" card and says he will never sacrifice his word for $500,000. Which is why Dan will not win this game.
