Kris Allen wowed the judges with his own take on Donna Summer's "She Works Hard for the Money," during Disco Night on "American Idol." But just as he got fundamentally instrumental, Lil' Rounds disappointed yet again with a Chaka Khan song and Matt Giraud went the way of the Bee Gees, who probably would have done better if he chose another ditty to perform.

Fantasia Barrino, winner of the third season of "American Idol," has signed on to do a reality show about her life as a young mother and recording artist for VH1. The title and number of episodes aren't yet determined but the show is slated to air in 2010. Fantasia has previous experience on-screen playing herself in the Lifetime movie "The Fantasia Barrino Story" and stage acting on Broadway in "The Color Purple."

"Idol Tonight," the live "American Idol" pre-show broadcast on the TV Guide network, has two fantastic guests this week: the recently-eliminated Alexis Grace and season 5 finalist Mandisa. "Idol Tonight" is hosted by season 1 runner-up Justin Guarini, season 2 finalist Kimberly Caldwell and season 6 finalist Brandon Rogers. Move over Clarissa Darling, Ted McGriff and Donkeylips. There's a new character in town and his name is "Raj." Via an article on Newsday, it turns out "American Idol" finalist Anoop Desai starred in an award-winning children's program on local North Carolina station WRAL. First season American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson will debut a clip of her first video from her new album on Wednesday night's Idol broadcast. The song is called "My Life Would Suck Without You" and it's the first single off her new album All I Ever Wanted.
