'American Idol' Kris Allen officially signs with 19 Recordings

Kris Allen, this year's "American Idol" winner, has officially signed a record deal with 19 Recordings. His music will be licensed by Jive Records.

The album is slated for a late Fall 2009 release. I'm hoping it has that John Mayer-Jason-Mraz-vibe to it, it would be a shame if Kris got away from the type of music he really does well.

Currently, Kris Allen's "No Boundaries" ranks 23rd on the Billboard Hot 100 singles charts, along with his version of Kanye West's "Heartless" and his "Ain't No Sunshine."

All the Idols are getting ready for their 50-city tour this summer, which kicks off in a month in Portland, Oregon and concludes on September 15th in Manchester, New Hampshire.
