'American Idol' finalist Allison Iraheta inks record deal
Well, that didn't take long, did it? "American Idol" fourth runner-up Allison Iraheta signed her record deal today.Just like her compatriots Kris and Adam, Allison has signed on with 19 Recordings. Her album will be licensed to Jive Records and is also slated for a Fall 2009 release. Entertainment Weekly has the scoop and Allison says, "I think I'm still in shock that this is happening -- getting to record my first album and this whole awesome experience is a dream come true!"
As I speculated earlier, Allison is the natural next choice after the two finalists but who could be next? Danny Gokey was actually skipped over in the order of finishing. Perhaps he is too busy developing his own glasses line.

Congratulations to Allison! She definitely deserves it.
LOL at Danny designing his eyewear line. I think that Danny was p***ed over because he has had a lot less musical experience than some of the other finalists. Eventually, he will get a record deal, but it might be with a Christian label, not necessarily mainstream. Who knows at this point?
The one contestant I hope gets a major record deal is Matt Giraud. On the show, he was overshadowed by Adam, but he definitely has a wonderful voice of his own. Just listen to any of his iTune singles-- his voice is current and would fit in at Top 40 radio stations. He is a stand-out because he can sing and has mad piano skills. The version of 'So Small' that he performed on The Regis & Kelly Show was even better and more bluesy than his original performance on American Idol. Matt FTW!
I hope Matt Giraud is next. He has a great voice and is an excellent piano player. I would like to see what kind of CD he can make, lots of potential there.

Alice, I'm still hoping for the Stevie Nicks biopic starring Megan. I know she's a big weirdo, but so was Stevie Nicks. I think if she has even an ounce of acting talent that it could be really awesome.
I like Megan, too, and I hear all kinds of songs that I would enjoy hearing her sing. I hope she does get a deal of some sort as I will buy her music. And Danny Gokey! I love, love, love his music and whoever said he didn't have the experience must not have realized he was a music director. I would buy his music way before Adam's or Kris'. Just sayin'.
So happy for Allison I was actually going for her during Idol and I am so glad she got signed. and off topic thank you Andrea for all the idol recaps I miss the recaps more than the show lol. What show does zap2it have you covering now?

Allison is a LOSER, not sure why this loser thinks she is Kelly Clarkson. She doesnt have Kelly's voice or looks.

Allison's future is Diana DeGarmo. Not everyone on that show is talented or has an it factor. Just look at past winners like Fantashia, Ruben, Tylor, all are gone, so not sure why this loser thinks she can make it or is even worthy of a record deal.
